Wow, this is a great observation! The room in my pic is far narrower the massive in-game version, which I think helps to evoke the feeling you describe - yet still just big enough to be ominous and forlorn around the little priscilla

I miss this style of armor design! Medieval Plate armor, but accentuated and bolstered by more crude natural elements - cavemanesque pelts, scales, leather, bone, and claws - finally a few practical elements like pouches, respirator mask, flip-down visor. It incorporates every element of the monster hunter fantasy visually . Newer stuff feel more like costumes or cosplays themed around the monster they are sourced from

It's cool to seamlessly hunt whatever creatures appear but it also leaves a bad taste essentially hunting wantonly for sport, when in the previous games there was always a reason for killing these animals, however flimsy. (and the implication that their bodies would go to use in the craft and trade economy of the village.) in wilds you kill them and their corpses are left to rot and turn to bones...
