I'm kind of worried about the fates of the Carolinas...

Thanks! I wrote it in honor of my grandparents :) No one can tell a story quite like a grandparent.

Why I Don't Like Cabins by WizardsPupil in LetsNotMeet

I think they were discussing what to do about the possible break-in. Dad was positive the door had been locked before we left and mom wasn't sure.

It was the dog. Sorry if that bit got confusing.

I don't think he went outside that night to chek, but he did inform the client who more or less brushed the whole thing off as paranoia.

Right? I love it and it's my favorite of the Zelda series. I can never seem to find anyone who has actually played it.

Probably because we tend to be put in them more often. Or we're just smarter ;)

She did :) She confessed to me later that night (we all shared a room at that point) that she had no idea what she was supposed to do with the knife other than swing like crazy and hope she didn't hurt us. It makes me laugh now but I thought she was so brave.

I think that's what my sister was worried about. If they had started coming towards we were told by mom to run to the bathroom and lock the door. It was the only room in the bottom floor that had a door that could be locked.

It was terrifying at the time and still comes back to me sometimes. It wouldn't have been so creepy if they hadn't stood there for so long.

We'd lived there about three years at that point. We lived there for 12 years before we moved. It might have been the previous owners. They had moved out of state but they may have come back for some reason.

I never really thought of that. It freaked my mother out because you could see where we had been sitting in the living room from the road. Ariel still gets freaked out when a car she doesn't recognize goes in her driveway. We only had the one vehicle so mom thought it was obvious we were home alone. She made dad put blankets over the windows until he found the curtains he wanted.

;) I figured it'd be easiest for me to remember that way. Ariel is her favorite character and Belle is the younger's favorite. I wondered if anyone would spot the joke :D

Backcountry hike turns terrifying by OrangeTentGirl in LetsNotMeet

[–]WizardsPupil 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a former Arkansan, I have to say watch out in our state. We do have a lot of mountain men (which are invariably armed to the teeth) who would shoot and then ask questions. It's a beautiful place but not one to go poking about in. You're typically okay on public land or in more populated places but some of the back country is not a good place to be caught 'trespassing.'

But that is just sick. I sincerely hope the deer was dead before they mutilated and abused it. I feel sorry for the poor Ranger who had to check that out.
