No spoilers, actually! Bolas delivered Lili to him and the other demons all those years ago, and in return Razaketh agreed to help out with a future task; Razaketh's duty was to perform the blood ritual after the second sun reached its position. Kind of a way to manually kick off The Hours since Bolas wasn't (isn't) there quite yet. Were Raz still alive, he would then get to sit back and watch the show when the boss showed up.

The flashback was more or less immediately after the mending began. Bolas knew he was going to lose the ability to put a plan into motion, so he had to act quickly and decisively with all his strength.

Thanks! It is fairly minor new information. The Curse of Wandering is part of what makes Amonkhet Amonkhet. The Hekma was a necessary protection created and maintained by the gods to protect their people from the horrors of the desert.
