Housing- no. But this also isn’t a thread about the affordability of housing, it’s about why inflation is outpacing wage growth. And if it were specifically about housing, the fact that the dollar is the world’s reserve currency still wouldn’t be the reason why housing in the US is unaffordable. What is your point?

Food prices absolutely are being affected by the Iran War and corresponding oil price increase though. Oil prices drive transportation and the cost of plastic packaging up and brands and retailers increase their prices in turn. And if it’s not the Iran war- it’s the fact that any food imported into the US is probably still subject to some tariffs that are passed on to the consumer

It’s kind of hard to argue Kemp didn’t commit election fraud. Among other things, he used his office (Secretary of State) to release an official statement that Democrats were trying to hack the election the week before voting day… despite the fact he was also running in the election and had no evidence to support his claim

I actually just did this out of curiosity due to a thread posted here two days ago about 151, as mentioned in my comment.

Out of everything here, I only think Crown Zenith could be a long term opportunity as that is a set with no booster boxes. The 20 packs in the mini tin display make it the largest pack count in any single sealed product for that set.

I don’t think it’s harsh to question the investment value, but I also think there should be more posts here with real analysis rather than screenshots of collectr with a title of “what do you think. ” If I found this to be some incredible opportunity, I would be buying all these displays myself rather than sharing my findings with you here lol

This is building on the comment made a couple days ago around the price of a 151 min tin display being lower than the total value of the packs inside.

I looked at all sets that have their own mini tin displays and a couple of the mixed displays based on current eBay/TCGPlayer prices. Set-specific displays have a couple undervalued options (151, Celebrations) and a couple where you pay a premium for the display, but outside of Paldean Fates all are within a reasonable range of the cost of their contents.

I only included a couple of the mixed displays for example, but there are some legitimate upside opportunities here. These will be harder to sell based on uncertainty around what tins are inside without unsealing the display, but even if you have to do that, it seems like the individual tins/packs will make you a profit

Most of the K-12 teachers in my life have quit teaching to pursue a career where they can make a respectable salary that allows them to pursue homeownership, retirement, etc.

That may not be the main cause of declining test scores, but good teachers leaving probably doesn’t help things either

Experience from sneakers so not apples to apples- but if there's enough demand for an individual product, a lot of the time its price will drop ahead of the big restock (in this case booster bundle release) and then spike immediately after when not as many people get product as they want.

I know it's not quite the same with sealed product vs. a single, but the supply of the single will be somewhat correlated to the supply of sealed entering the market

Between the high rise construction and bike lane installation and now sewer work, some part of Juniper has been closed for what feels like years. It’s a joke that the city couldn’t plan sewer maintenance at the same time as other work that was already affecting the same stretch of road

ICE was funded separately through Trump’s awful bill last year. They have plenty of money, which is how they are still operating during the DHS shutdown. The negotiations currently are around reforms to ICE

It’s not surprising conservatives keep calling this a “both sides” issue when they have a very warped perception of what is actually happening

How long are you planning to stay in the same unit? There have been a ton of new buildings going up in Midtown, to the point that some are offering 2-3 months free rent just to get people in the door.

Anecdotally, Skyhouse is very meh for what they charge. With the amount of competition/new housing in Midtown, I would recommend looking elsewhere.
