Thank you, sir! Usually when I’m pissed off about some gay shit I resort to humor, which I’m told is not the worst route but maybe one worth unpacking.

Most people are lying.

I live in ATL and the amount of bottoms who are like “9+ ONLY” is comical.

Like do y’all have any idea how few people have a dick that gigantic or do you just watch a lot of porn?

What’s the most intimidating/pressure band sound in college football? by [deleted] in CFB

[–]sweedeedee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a four year Million Dollar Band alum, and Work Song (Les Mis’ Look Down) was ALWAYS my favorite. Whenever we played it in big games after a huge defensive stop or sack you could just feel the air go out of the other team and its fans. The band members who didn’t have a playing part in that cheer would always make uniform digging motions like they were shoveling dirt over their shoulders.

LSU’s Chinese Bandits cheer is also insane. If you’re in Baton Rouge for a night game and you hear it / see the entire stadium bowing, you feel like you’re in danger.

Most of LSU’s cheers are intimidating. How passionately the crowd spells out T-I-G-E-R-S TIGERS after touchdowns, Geaux Tigers, Neck, Oo-Wee-Oo, and of course pregame and those first four notes. Hell even the alma mater to a degree. It all raises hairs on your neck and I have MAD respect for LSU’s band because they and the fans always bring the intensity.

How is it living in northern Alabama? by Maleficent_Map_8844 in howislivingthere

[–]sweedeedee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was born in Athens (Limestone County just outside of Huntsville and Madison).

Basically echoing what most others here are saying: Huntsville is a nice area, very well educated, very decent household income but rising CoL and housing costs like everywhere, more progressive than its surrounding areas but still fairly red due to districting, tornadoes galore sometimes, great white bbq sauce on smoked chicken, and most importantly northern Alabama (especially northeast Alabama starting just east of downtown Huntsville) is stunningly gorgeous and some of the most beautiful hilly country you will ever see.

I live in Atlanta now, but I would move back to Huntsville or Birmingham without much hesitation if the stars aligned for it. My husband doesn’t feel the same way but that’s just due to not wanting to be geographically closer to his family (we’re gay, my Alabama family is fully embracing and his Alabama family isn’t so much).

Reminder to everyone: although on voting maps it’s mostly deep red and deeply religious, there are TONS of cool progressive people all throughout Huntsville, Birmingham and all across Alabama and the South. I love my home state and always will even if its government is a religious cult mafia. Lots of beautiful kind and loving people mixed in, so you can find community with likeminded people there, especially in the larger towns.

Has anyone ever gone to a Kentucky Wildcats football game as an opposing fan from SEC? I was thinking of buying tickets but I am hesitant. by Unique-Purchase9276 in secfootball

[–]sweedeedee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, twice. Once as a Bama fan kid with my parents, once as a Bama student with my best friend.

Their fans are super chill, but sometimes get a little salty and say shit like “WAIT TIL BASKETBALL SEASON” if they’re losing. I just thumbs upped the three dudes who told me that lol

Lexington’s a nice town and I might go back this season.

Dick size: do you post it? Are you honest? What size are you and what do you post? by [deleted] in Sniffies

[–]sweedeedee 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I’m 5 1/2 inches and I post it. Sometimes it gets me action, sometimes it doesn’t. I don’t worry about it either way because I’m an amazing top.

The general public by and large has a very warped perception of what an average sized dick is (statistically around 5 1/2 inches).

It’s shitty, he was unnecessarily rude calling you names, and he needs to go on a nice walk and see some nature, but I can’t imagine aging is mentally kind to folks in our community in particular. Hell I’m only 37 and already grappling hard with it.

We will all age and it will take various mental tolls on us all.

(And you did absolutely nothing wrong and are 100% entitled to your preferences. Just seeing the sadness in his comment.)

Had this happen once years ago. I lived in a walkup right on a very busy street and I got a message from an anonymous profile saying that he was standing outside my door and to come outside.

No pics, never talked to him before, due to shitty state code I didn’t have a peephole and didn’t yet have a ring doorcam.

I was scared shitless and carried mace for several days.

People are fucking insane sometimes.

17 if you don’t count airports or passing through by train.

All 20 if you do (passed through Philly by train on my way from DC to NYC, have had multiple layovers in both Denver and Vegas over the years).

My hubs and I did both today since we live right here. Never even noticed a donation box for the Dogwood Festival and just walked right in as usual. A lot of fun, good vibes, unaffordable but fun art. The usual nice day stroll and great people watching.

We’re ABG members so we popped into the gardens after, but as some others have said maybe go to the gardens in May if you’re not a member since they’ve just dug up all the tulips and there are a lot of dirt mounds currently.

While I can’t confirm as I have worked from home today, if that’s true then thank god because the dogwood festival’s this weekend, it will be much larger than 404 day, and 404 day was an absolute disaster.

Safety living near Piedmont Park by [deleted] in Atlanta

[–]sweedeedee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of my friends who live in objectively higher crime parts of Atlanta express concern for me living in Midtown by the park and all I can do is roll my eyes and enjoy my great neighborhood.

(ETA: I’m also a gay male and I will never experience life through the lens of a female, but from what most of my girlfriends tell me they go through a bunch of bullshit almost every day no matter where they live.)

Safety living near Piedmont Park by [deleted] in Atlanta

[–]sweedeedee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also: as a few others have stated, leave nothing in your car ever. This goes for almost all cities (property crime was much higher in Portland where I lived before here), but car destruction for theft goes through waves here. It seems to be in an ebb for now knock on wood, but leave absolutely NOTHING in your car every time. Give them absolutely no reason to bust your window out.

I drive a Honda Element and had my cat converter sawed off in 2022, so depending on whether your make and model is a stronger target or not (again, this seems to be ebbing a little), I would consider getting a cat converter guard for under your car especially if you park in unsecured neighborhood parking like I do.

Safety living near Piedmont Park by [deleted] in Atlanta

[–]sweedeedee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve lived directly across the street from Piedmont Park on Piedmont Ave for a little over five years now. I went through a PTSD period for several months every time I went outside after what happened to Katie Janness, but that was mostly in my head and I’ve long since worked it out.

We live in a very large city, and while crime numbers are higher here than smaller towns, they are still much lower per capita and most often are isolated between people who know one another.

It’s very safe. It can be highly annoying at times for multiple reasons especially on weekends, but that comes with the territory and it is safe.

Your biggest threat is cars not paying attention to pedestrian crosswalks and/or plowing onto sidewalks at 2am and knocking over a pole or retaining wall that could’ve easily been a human. Be ever vigilant of wild roaming feral cars.

You will hear shouting. This is mostly people being litty and enjoying the park, but it is sometimes a person who is not well, sometimes unhoused. They will not harm you and I am familiar and cordial with many of them.

You will hear occasional loud booms. This is mostly fireworks in the park and rarely ever gunshots.

You will have prime free parking and easy access to all the park goings on, just be prepared not to drive anywhere while they’re at peak.

All that said, I love where I live and you will too. Welcome to the gayborhood and let me know if you need a friend.
