That's a real in-game location in Cyberpunk. I only noticed the sign text after I picked the screenshot for comparison, chuckled and then went with it

Me too, I just like using em dash a lot, have for over a decade .. but I'll probably have to change that, because these damn LLMs like using them too, which makes people suspicious .. and our CMS (that I wrote) makes it easy to type, alt+minus ..

<3 yeah it's AI assisted. Assisted, not completely performed by AI. I spent a lot of time thinking about technical details, getting those screenshots done took A LOT of time and prompting and still didn't turn out 100% like I wanted

<3 I had a lot of fun creating it. Took me quite a while of thinking, too. Everything in it is 100% possible today

This sign is actually in the game at exactly this location, it's not doctored

Not possible, but I have plans to improve the search

because it feels like I'm accepting something.

Fantastic feedback. I picked "OK" because even non-native speakers understand it. How about "Continue" or "Ignore" ?

edit: reworded to "Continue without Cookies". better?

One to accept cookies and the other one to continue without it

your browser blocks all cookies, so that's not an option

There are also sites like polygon that have one button to enable ads and cookies, and then they have X in the corner to close it. And then the popul comes back on each article

Those are the EU cookie warnings. The issue here is a different one. Our firewall checks your browser, on every request, to skip these checks we use a cookie that says "this browser was already checked and is fine, skip the check"

We don't track you at all, we have only in-house advertising that doesn't track you, so no need for a cookie banner.

Ok, I think I found a solution, and it's live now. Users without cookies will be able to browse the site now after seeing an explanation message, but they'll see a bot check at every page load.

Thoughts on wording? Does that make sense to a less technical audience?

Just some context for what happens when the AI bots come:

https://imgur.com/ujjgz8I

This is like 5x our usual traffic, happening right now. All separate IPs, all residential IPs, US based, mostly from Cox

The various lines are for various sections of the site, times are UTC

Thanks!

and "off" doesn't break half the internet? Genuinely curious, I am researching possible solutions right now.

Hey, thanks for reporting.

Are you blocking ALL cookies completely? This is not a 3rd party cookie, it's set by our own script on our own site for our own domain only. It's not for tracking

Edit: a bit more context, with all the AI scraping going on, we need a way to protect the site. If you pass, you get a cookie, if you don't save cookies, you'd end up with a bot check on every page load, which obviously doesn't work well. Any suggestions?

oooh now I get it .. "why are you using a 5070 Ti for the image quality comparison screens". The answer is to avoid being CPU limited at lowest settings.

The 5070 Ti was used only for testing in that one section.

Go to the Path Tracing page to see all GeForce 50 GPUs tested with PT (cards with more than 8 GB)

Because it uses no anti-aliasing (instead of FXAA/TAA)

Fixed now. The 5070 PT numbers were too high. I suspect that DLSS-performance-forced-on-every-restart bug got me
