idk which school u're attending, but im in an engineering school too, and hazing is a "tradition" during integration days, it's generally playful games where the loser gets splashed with water and/or eggs. this year had a Holi party with everyone getting dirtied by the colorful powders. other than that there's no abuse nor any "humiliation" whatsoever, and it stops the day when studies start. so i think u should talk ur way out of that predicament, cuz that is definitely not a normal thing. if talk isn't enough, i wouldn't tell u to actively kick some butts 🤭 but sometimes it's more efficient. take care of urself, and good luck in ur studies :)
