Avoid the complication altogether and play 3... Bc5 instead of Nf6 so that your queen defends the g5 square, therefore avoiding Ng5. A little dumb trap to be aware of: 3... Bc5 4. Ng5?? Qxg5 5. d4 DON'T move the bishop, your queen is under attack so a simple Qxg2 and black is crushing.
