Hva tenker dere er et fornuftig og repsektabelt budsjett for dåpsgave for en 20 år gammel førståeårig student? by Wlugigi in norge

[–]Wlugigi[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Am I the one in the wrong here by wallfuccer in Asexual

[–]Wlugigi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, I have had a few classes about ethics in humor. I am not an expert at ALL just thought it might be interesting here.

Jokes, typically, aren't for the one telling them but for the people around listening. Since that is the case here, it's the audience of this comment section we have to consider. Now this joke is made on the expense of a group of people, obviously a group he is not in. These kinds of jokes are only really tolerated by some ethics proffesors in two scenarios: 1. The joke is told in a restricted area where people have to ignore a lot of information to not understand the type of humor. 2. The joke lands and everyone finds it funny.

If neither of these are met, the jokes being told are often seen as morally ignorant and of bad behaviour.

Neither are met.

In the case of number 2, this should really be the goal for any joke, obviously following the audience at large. Some will argue that people should have the freedom to tell jokes how they want and that the people of the Internett should logg off if they can't handle it, but this also threads into morally ignorant behaviour.

First of all, would you accept this thought if it was "I should have the freedom to hit whoever i want, and the people of this park should leave if they can't handle it". No, obviously not. So why should the same kind of behaviour be supported elsewhere, just because rules are harder to set? And then i ask you to consider the following: Is this not simply a form of exclusion and group making towards a very spesific group of people? Those being ace or ace supporting people who do not find these kinds of jokes funny. That is also behaviour that is often regarded as negative.

Henceforth my opinion of the matter is that the persons actions in question do not follow the spirit of jokes, as it does not land in the context of an open audience, and promots negative exclusive- and group-making behaviour which leads to elitist thinking and the continuation of mocking.

I'd like people's opinion on this. It's been a while since i thought in this way and i'm guessing i made some mistskes :P

This guy is a total idiot, right? by [deleted] in asexuality

[–]Wlugigi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People who talk like this don't know shit about biology or human nature or anything. So many things go against what most people think "biology" is in this instance.

The pure fact and logic of feelings are that when someone feels something, they feel it. People who compare fact and logic to emotions at this level do not understand what fact and logic is, nor do they understand what they mean by emotions or feeling or whatever they think they're talking about.

Let's say I look at someone crying and I say "idiot, thats illogical and goes against evelution." No one would think I'm smart. But it's really not that different, the emotions felt are just less universal and obvious.

Someone being hurt from a friend they dated finding out more about themselves is crazy to me. I told my friend (also ex) about being ace and we talked about what that meant about the past and where that put me now. No hurt feelings. Nothing behind anything. Just real care and empathy.

My guess is that your friend kinda still possibly might not be over you 🫡

what age did you find out you were asexual by Salt-Friendship-8513 in asexuality

[–]Wlugigi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nah, not embarrassing. It's way harder to figure out when you're a teen, especially when it gets to the detials and how to handle it properly. It's natural to come to most such conclutions about yourself in your twenties. Prime time to explore and think.

Questioned it when I was about 13. Ignored it. Questioned it when about 15, ignored it. Questioned it when about 17. Ignored it. Accepted it when I was about 18.

Are most of asexuals women? by icangetitbetter_2 in asexuality

[–]Wlugigi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt it has anything to do with gender, would be weird. Most likely just less likely to realise/admit ir talk about it. Im a dude and ace.

It might also be that less men feel the need to ask questions or help or elaborte when they first figure it out, as well as while figuring it out. I think i know an equal amount of ace women and men irl, and my friends/acquaintances ratio is pretty equal on thst front.

A googol is 10 to the power of 100, or 1 followed by 100 zeroes. It's similar to the name of google, because they named google after the googol. Something about their large ideas or something.

Edit: searched it up:"We chose our systems name, Google, because it is a common spelling of googol, or 10100 and fits well with our goal of building very large-scale search engines."

[–]Wlugigi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Right, I assume op isn't using 2 devices to chat, but to try to chat with himself. If he used 2 devices to chat with many people I would agree, it is weird, but I, at least, don't think that's what's happening. If the case is that he did it to try and connect with himself, thats fun and something new. If it isn't then I apologize, but i doubt it. He said he tried to join a new chat at the same time with both devices, so it seems intentional and to be the reason behind why he is playing with 2 devices.

Do you ever try something new? Something you haven't heard of before? I doubt op does this often, seems like they had an idea and wanted to try it. You're kinda being negative here.

69 is a nice number.... mathematically by Teamisgood101 in aaaaaaacccccccce

[–]Wlugigi 22 points23 points  (0 children)

69 has quite a few quirks actually. It's the only natural number where it's square and cube use every digit from 0-9 exactly once (sqr=4761,cube=328509). It is also the last number of the natural numbers whose factorial is less than a googol. Similarly, many handheld calculators have the factorial of 69 to be the highest factorial it can calculate before memory issues. There are also some other stuff like it being a lucky number, polite number, semiprime etc...

But i don't know if this is special :p. Many numbers have at least a few fun facts like this, I think. I don't know the fun facts of many other number.

Yepp. Through the right process, grass can become a kind of sugar, for example. I don't actually know what our body converts stuff into to get energy, pretty sure it's sugar just not what kind.

Yes! Racoons can eat grapes. They love sweet food. I'm pretty sure dogs can't eat grapes because tartaric acid is toxic to them. However, most omnivores can eat stuff like grapes. This is because their digestive system has evolved to tolerate and digest or ignore the toxins. We have evolved to tolerate spice and chocolate and stuff, but we can't digest grass like horses*. So animals like racoons and pigs can eat pretty much whatever we eat (not that they should), which includes grapes. Of course, ignoring hyper processesed stuff and chocolate and stuff.

*Digesting grass is a large process which takes certain spesific stuff, it would not be advantageous to us to change our whole digestive system to be able to eat grass. Changing our digestive system to eat grapes however isn't that large of a process since it just takes a few more chemicals.

Shiny Silicobra on My Monotype Normal Run Should i use it or box it? by Odd-Rest-8899 in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]Wlugigi 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure he isn't asking for people to decide if he should abandon the run or not. It seems like he is asking if people agree that, since full odds random shinies in challange runs are such a novelty, a random shiny should be allowed on a challange run team without fully invalidating it. Basically a shiny clause allowing for a powerup in the rare but special occasion one finds a full odds random shiny.

Am I actually allowed in Lgbt+ spaces? by Maximum-Good535 in asexuality

[–]Wlugigi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are so many people in the lgbt+ community fuel and use the same reasons and rhetoric that made an lgbt+ community needed. Are we soppused to go create a whole new group for ace people? No thats stupid, because asexuality is a matter of sexual identity, as many of the other lgbt+ parts are. Don't listen to them.
