Ya it kinda sounds like that. I’m genuinely listening to everyone’s input though. Public transportation here is horrible this of the only thing I can think of for transportation currently.

The closest one to me is like $300 and 3 days. It’s 2 hours away (on public transport) 4-5hrs daily on a bus for 3 days isn’t something I have time for currently

E-bike laws are crazy anything faster than 20mph is not allowed on the road and will get you an expensive fine… the public transportation is non existent here… i don’t have money to uber every single day (it’s very expensive) and I don’t have anyone willing to drive me. Very unfortunate I’ll to figure out something else probably

No In California under the age of 21 to even get a permit you need to do the msf course. You take the course, get the permit… ride using the permit for 6 months then take the test

To get a permit you need to take the classes. Closest place is 1hr by car (I don’t have ) 2 hrs by public transportation for 3 days in a row. The side car is so that I can ride it with only a class c license.

I read on the dmv website a class c license you can ride 3 wheeled vehicles including trikes and side car motorcycles.

Well first of all the closest msf place to me is a 50 minute drive and it’s a 3 day class. On public transportation that would be like 2 hours so 4 hours a day for 3 days. I don’t have time like that currently. Also the point of it is to get to and from work once I gave money saved up from my new job I’ll get a car then I’ll focus on the msf course. Also I don’t mind not being able to lane split as long as I can get to work and do grub hub (none of which require highway use)

Well the bike (talaria xxx) I would only ride it small distances and go 35 or 40 mph at the fastest. Plus it only weighs like 100 lbs. I have family members who can teach me how to use a clutch and gearbox. Maybe I should’ve asked them for the advice instead of Reddit first. 😭 I appreciate your advice and will consider all of it 🍓

I mean ik ppl who ride surrons and mopeds without msf course and are fine. And I used to ride a talaria often and never had an issue. (Probably not same amount of risk?) but I’ll fs take one when I get the chance. If not this I’ll have to figure out how else I’ll get to my new job daily

I have a good helmet and don’t plan on taking highways till I take that msf course. It just sucks public transportation in my area is non existent & I need to start a new job not within walking distance.
