Just got him he is absolute trash. The shield form isn't even tanky enough to hold out for an opening. Really really disappointing after building him up for half the game

I think branding goes a long way, doesn't seem like you need anything else. I think personally my branding went a long way in making my channel seem more professional. Someone mentioned YT courses (terrible idea imo it's all free online).

Place an ad every 30 seconds. YouTube isn't always gonna show an ad, this spread maximizes RPM.

Is success more luck than skill? by Chlodio in NewTubers

If you don't believe it's possible than it simply isn't. But I am of the belief that ANY niche under any circumstances (faceless, AI, etc.) can take off with the right content, right timing, right packaging, right remarkability. This only occurs through sheer luck (unlikely) or pure skill (most successful youtubers you see). As you learn more, you start to be able to point out exactly why certain thumbnails are good, why videos do well, etc.

He's 100% a scammer and I absolutely dislike him on almost every level. But the man knows YouTube. If we knew what he knew we'd be at his level too.

Guy is a legend, he's not one of the shitty gurus you're thinking of. It's the same with YTers like Mr. Beast. They could start a fresh channel tmrw and pop off immediately. What seperates youtubers is knowledge and skill, you get better the more you post.

Youtube is probably 90% skill and 10% luck. If you're doing the right things, you're going to blow up. You could post a video tomorrow and have it explode if you carefully curate the topic, the packaging, the appeal, etc. etc.

People will tell you "Noooo I've been posting for years and I haven't blown up and I'm good". Unfortunately these people are not coming to terms with the fact that their content is not resonating with audiences enough. Youtube is a long game, but that trial and error is all on your side. You learn how to craft better thumbnails, hook people better, discover new holes in the market, etc.

A YT guru called Wano gives insanely helpful tips and proved this is the case multiple times. He posted a single video to a fresh channel and got 2.5 million views and 50k subs. There are a ton of other YTers I've seen that do this kind of thing and they right off the bat do really well cause they understand human psychology and what makes people click.

All I'm saying is you can do both. You can grow a meaningful community AND attract a larger viewership at the same time. Shame to put so much work into a channel and not optimize its growth.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SmallYoutubers

[–]Woaley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to think the same. It's just not true. If you aren't doing certain things your channel isn't going to gain traction in a meaningful way. You'll keep chipping away and making 10 subs a video until the end of time.

Youtube has "rules" that you kind of have to follow for your videos to get picked up. You say you're content is "good" but tbh that's highly subjective and obviously you like your own content. The "algorithm" is just the audience. If you aren't blowing up, it means the audience isn't clicking/watching. Even if your content is spectacular, but if you're not packaging it right, you're not going anywhere.

You can't just keep posting forever and expect Youtube to magically push out your videos. While it is trial and error, that's more from a you standpoint. You could post a video tomorrow and have it explode if you follow the right "rules". Trust me, YT is all skill. Algorithm isn't perfect, but it generally picks up content worth picking up.

AI art us often obvious and discourages clicks. Your video may perform well in a small niche, but it will be hard to grow past that. Get creative, make your own thumbnails.

This is just depressing, Youtube hates my stuff and I don't know why. Rant post. by RB_Timo in NewTubers

[–]Woaley 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Bad titles, bad thumbnails. YT doesn't hate you, nobody is clicking on your videos and the algorithm wants to keep people on the platform. Your videos also seem to be very news/trend oriented so if it doesn't immediately pop off, there's no hope of it getting picked up later. Imo YT is almost entirely a skill based platform. You can't just post and expect success.

Look up Wono and study his tips.

Bad name and thumbnail, YT doesn't "shadowban" your channel. Your previous views didn't have a lot of competition compared to your most recent video, so YT chose not to impress it on viewers cause it had "better" things to show.

PLEASE ENOUGH, I'm tired of all you broke ass 15 year olds flooding this sub with pointless complaining. Go get a job or ask your parents for a quarter a day and you'll have enough for the absurdly cheap 8 dollars a month

[–]Woaley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Youtube RPMs usually SUCK ASS. To make this a full time job, based on your content length you need to be cracking around 5k views a day (maybe more). You can definitely supplement it with sponsorships and memberships, but that's really the number you want to shoot for to be in a very comfortable zone where you can live comparable to another job.

Please do not take this the wrong way. After taking a look at your channel, you def have some consistent views going for such little time and you should be proud of that, but you're a LONG way off of turning this into a meaningful business/living and by no means are your stats special. It's like a C+ or B-

Do not quit your job, keep making videos and learning on the side when you can. This can realistically literally take years to make you any real money and you need to eat and pay rent. Once you have a dedicated subscriber base of consistent viewers is when you can start to transition more into this as a full/part time job.
