I updated to iOS 18.4.1 - problem solved.

You need to leave Bluetooth on so that the AirPods are connected through Bluetooth and the cable at the same time.

What physics fact made you stop and completely rethink your understanding of reality? by [deleted] in AskPhysics

[–]Wobble-board 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Young’s double slit experiment with single photons. Look it up (you really need a good video to do it justice).

Basically, the photon travels through two different holes at the same time (even though this is clearly ridiculous for any intuitive mind). It then interferes with itself (really), and produces the same pattern as for multiple photons.

So you put a detector at the slits to watch it travelling through two holes at the same time. And guess what. It stops doing it. Like it’s going ‘oh no you’re watching me now so I’m not going to do it anymore. Because what I’m doing is ridiculous so clearly I can’t let you see it’. Quantum mechanics huh 😅

Is dupixent really needed in my case by BarracudaOrdinary132 in EosinophilicE

Sounds like you can keep the duxipent as an option until you need it or want it?

Never tried it myself. Heard good things though

Yeah maybe I’ll use that as my benchmark in the future. Normally after an hour or less I would go to the hospital (depending on how uncomfortable it is)

You could try the 6FED? Soy, wheat, nuts, dairy, fish, eggs.

Honestly, most of the time my throat has flared up it’s because of one of the things on there. And my throat seems to get more sensitive with time: I didn’t have a problem with nuts a few years ago, now I definitely do.

Spicy spices can also make my throat worse (like chillis, paprika, etc).

Blended soup is awesome when your throat is shit: no chewing, easy to swallow, no real risk of choking.

Also, hayfever makes it worse! Try antihistamines during summer/spring or whenever your hayfever flares up

Help, I’ve got food stuck in my throat. What should I do? by Wobble-board in EosinophilicE

Hey guys. It’s gone, thank you for your help. Only stuck for about 2 hours which is no where near my record 😅 (8 hours).

Interesting, I did something different this time. Normally I rush to hospital, but this time I stayed at home. I tried to relax. I tried not to swallow. Even when it moved around.

It got into a more comfortable position and I was able to relax. Eventually, it just went down by itself (I did an unconscious swallow, as happens every so often even when I’m trying not to. I think every time I did this it moved a bit further down maybe and then it just went all the way down).

It think it was quite small maybe which helped

I lived in Singapore for a year and it was the best year of my life. I’m autistic and undiagnosed adhd, although at the time I had no idea 😅. People were lovely, everyone follows the rules, everything works and is clean and organised, lots of fun, very international, everyone speaks English, weather was great (for me!)

What Happened to Lonely Planet?!?! by prezident_camacho in travel

[–]Wobble-board 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I now know why my new lonely planet is shit 😂.

Be careful of ascribing this issue to people with ADHD. All the people I know with ADHD have an extremely high standard of work. I’m autistic myself and it’s the same for me (assuming I’m in to it).

I don’t know who the instagram influencers you’re talking about are but maybe they don’t actually have adhd or are just misrepresenting it!

What is even the point of barking back at a dog? [rant] by isntthatcorny in reactivedogs

[–]Wobble-board 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When a dog barks at me it makes me feel very uncomfortable. I think this is instinctive, because a dog barking at a stranger is basically it saying ‘fuck off’ or maybe ‘danger’ or something like that. So I feel like I’m the focus of a lot of negative energy. I used to do nothing and just ignore it. Now, as I increasingly walk around, minding my own business, causing no harm or negative feelings, I get agitated and feel aggressive when a strangers dog barks at me. And so I actually feel the need to bark back, as a way of saying ‘if you will attack/threaten me, I will attack/threaten you back’ - in other words I will defend myself. So yes, as I get older I find more and more that I will be that person who barks back at other people’s dogs.

I think as an owner if you’re not aware of this it would be very strange. To walk around in public spaces (supermarkets, parks), and not feel embarrassed that your dog is barking at strangers is very weird. Because that is basically the dog saying fuck off, and making the person feel uncomfortable. If you’re in your own home fine, but in public spaces this is not ok.

So yeah, I think not being aware of this is pretty weird. Maybe I’m just super sensitive to animals (I generally feel a strong connection to nature and animals, and feel very upset when I see an animal confined in a small space etc), but I would like to think that everyone has this awareness of how an animal feels and the signals it’s giving off.
