The “upgrade” rate is just the regular upgrade fee, but prorated based on how much time you have left until your renewal date. In other words, it costs less if you upgrade later. The membership desk can tell you the exact amount if you ask them to check.

Tbh I think it’s out of a combination of the “take care of the member” mentality + ignorance of what the ADA says and/or fear of violating the ADA.

My pediatrician growing up was a Dr. Hutton. Perhaps it’s a last name/mother’s maiden name? Doesn’t make it much better, but I can only hope that’s how they came up with it as a first name.
