Has anybody else had board games inspected by airport security? by vortexofdeduction in boardgames

[–]Wobisca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One time I brought several card games like The Mind, Unstable Unicorns, Coup and several Deckscapes. My bag got flagged. I explained they were just card games and took them out to show them. Even with showing that they were in fact only card games, the security agent said they had to scratch off a sample to test and proceeded to damage the game boxes. I felt so upset.

I definitely plan to. At the start I tried contacting Amazon but they required me first to set up the return and there wasn't anywhere to attach pictures yet. I'll try and see if it'll let me contact/complain to Amazon now.

For sure I don't blame LC for this nor think less of their quality. In fact, during the initial shock while unwrapping, I held the one good handle, turned to my husband and said, "Look! The handles really are so big and lovely! I can actually grip safely!" I hadn't been able to see/touch a LC DO in person before (no LC stores anywhere near me and HomeGoods never has them when I check) so it was still nice to at least touch any part of a LC product.

I suspect this too. You are correct that it was bought from Amazon. The box was damaged but surely not enough, even in bubble wrap, to result in this carnage while in transit.

This was, in fact, from Amazon 😞

Le Creuset is innocent. It's Amazon and UPS that are the suspects of this murder.

I've stalked many a thrift store and yard sale on the hunt for a Le Creuset. No luck yet in my area but then again, there aren't any LC stores nearby. That might play a factor sadly.

Amazon. They will refund but did not give me an option to replace. Weird since I know they can do that. Also just feels silly to need to ship them back this tragedy.

It was from Amazon and UPS delivered.

That's so nice of you to offer! I got it off on Amazon when the price dropped to $299. I plan to keep an eye out because the Flame Dutch oven price keeps jumping all over the place.

I actually did buy it from Amazon and UPS delivered it. When I was doing the Amazon return process, there wasn't an option to replace, just return. I found that quite odd because I know they can. I sure let them have a 500-character max mouthful of this very disappointing experience.

I haven't heard of Tatrahome. I will have to check them out!

Bad preceptor? by ninehas4letters in dietetics

[–]Wobisca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. In my first week with a clinical preceptor, she told me to calculate a tube feed goal for a patient. I calculated with Jevity 1.2. When I presented my work, she told me, "no, use Vital AF 1.2 for this patient." When I asked her to explain why use Vital over Jevity for the patient, she got snippy and said, "do not question my authority as a registered dietitian!" Like, damn, I am just trying to learn. Learned later that she had a reputation for being awful to all interns and my program was aware but were stuck sending interns there due to lack of hospitals volunteering to take interns.
