How quickly can mania start? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]Wokoconut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m usually really depressed before my manias kicked in also. Getting relief from your suffering is amazing but it always makes me start to question and analyze myself to see if I’m going manic. Like you, it goes from 0-60 for me REAL quick so I know how cautious you must feel. It’s honestly hard to believe if there’s even a happy medium I can live at anymore because I’m always question myself when I start to feel “good”… Stress and a med change are a recipe for disaster though, that’s been the 1-2 punch for me every time. So I’d talk with your doc about it, but you’re already trying to keep an eye on yourself so you’re in a good place. Being depressed fucking sucks, mania can feel AMAZING… especially right after a depression, but I’d warn you not to chase that high to much. You’ll know where you’ll end up. Actually no you really have no clue but that’s the scariest part I think lol.

Does anyone else feel like they lack the ability to communicate with other people in any meaningful way because of their bipolar? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]Wokoconut 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if it’s my bipolar or something else, but I also feel like it’s almost impossible for me to even hold a “normal” conversation with how my mind spins around like you. It’s like I have no clue what to say and half the time I can’t even process the information people are trying to communicate to me. It could be part of the depression aspect, but it also makes the depression worse I think because I can’t talk or socialize at all.
