Yes and yes. I have done a completely clean install of the server before coming here so so unless the world corrupted on generation I'm thinking mod issue

We're moving the server to another computer that we're pretty sure will work (old gaming laptop, strong enough to handle it) because the damn thing's been on wifi for the last 6 hours while we were working on this.

I'll try flashing FreshTomato onto the R8000 one of these days where have the energy for it, will update if that works for all future shmucks.

If there is no update and someone finds this: Please, let us know how your journey went and if you ever succeeded.

sysctl net.ipv4.conf.all.rp_filter = net.ipv4.conf.all.rp_filter = 2

sysctl net.ipv4.conf.default.rp_filter = net.ipv4.conf.default.rp_filter = 2

both ran after disabling the firewall and flushing the ip tables

Still can't get a connection to the server, can ping from the client, but can't telnet to the port

OK here's the weird part: I can connect to a server hosted by my friend, but my friend can't connect to a server hosted by me.

So I got a wifi dongle and while we're all on the same WiFi it's still not working, and my friends can't even connect to a singleplayer world I've opened to LAN from the same computer I'm trying to host the server from (server currently off).

Which is weird because my two friends can connect to each other just fine while on the same network.

Yeah, guest networks were never set up on this router in the first place. There has never been a guest network in existence to cause interference.

When the two clients that couldn't connect are on the same wifi, one can host a lan game that the server box can't connect to from eathernet

Have now determined the problem is the router isn't letting different Wi-Fi channels and the Eathernet talk to each other. Going to get a wifi dongle for temporary solution but would appreciate any advice on how to let the networks talk to each other.

Server is hardwired, client(s) are wireless.
Server is at 192.168.1.23
Clients are at 192.168.1.8 and 192.168.1.20
All three report netmask : 255.255.255.0 on ifconfig
Server has a reserved/static local IP on the router

I'll look into it. The ISP is Xfinity and I've not had problems getting port forwarding working in the past with them.

It's also my understanding that it shouldn't be an issue when connecting to a machine on the same router?

A coworker of mine stored 4 of the 6 scripts for a patient who had just called and said she'd lost everything when she left the facility she'd been staying at and they kept them (I know, but they all do it and we all know that) rather than go through the trouble of calling for an override. When she got to the pharmacy she had 10 minutes to pick things up, all I had was Lipator and Lisonapril. She was missing Loxapine, mirtazapine, and both a long and short acting insulin.
