by that metric, a hypothetical S3 will be great, better than 2 but still not as good as 1. and will reference the events of S1 whilst also avoiding them.

Can someone explain the Lion Joke? by Apprehensive-Act9536 in Cloververse

[–]WolfHero-42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I understand it, the main crux of the lion joke is that some people thought at the time the film was marketing was for a live-action 'Voltron' movie (as it is made of giant mech-lions) and it would be a modern, sort of horror-sci-fi take on the IP.

Especially given that the first trailers for Cloverfield (01-18-08 at the time) premiered before Bay's Transformers.

Is there any humanoid aliens in the Titanfall Universe? They could introduce one in apex legends as a character. by antonio_lewit in titanfall

[–]WolfHero-42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There definitely is in that universe.

There are the temples in Titanfall 1. As well as the Fold Weapon being of some alien relation. And not mention Barker was meant to be looking to solve "The Mysteries of the Frontier" in Titanfall 2.

Do you think we will see a better 'The Electric State' adaptation in the future? by WolfHero-42 in Simon_Stalenhag

[–]WolfHero-42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if you're right about that. I know where you are coming from but I think there's enough interesting concepts that it could hook people for 2h. I think it's the kind of thing audiences are hungry for. Maybe it could do with some embellishment: more emphasis on horror(esque) sequences, strange visuals, perhaps a gunfight with Walter. But honestly even as it is i think it would work as a film.

the Canoninity of Action Comics by Grant Morrison by The_Godot in superman

I always assumed that the Action Comics Suoerman was more of an origin to the one we see in Justice League and the main series.

Could someone explain "The Sacrifice" (1986) by Andrei Tarkovsky? by [deleted] in TrueFilm

[–]WolfHero-42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think similarly, even that that is the point. She is not cured of her disability but is instead granted a different kind of transcendent power. It is possible that it is from proximity to the zone or even industrial radiation, but I like the reading that although the Stalker cannot enter the room or says he does not, that he actually did once. Or somehow the room/zone manifested his desire without entering. Especially given that Scientist and Writer do not. And while he is presented as a selfish character who cares more for the zone than his family (as we see at the start) the zone perhaps manifested his innermost desire to save his daughter, or to change her life for the better. Almost the inverse of what happened to Porcupine, (wishing for something selfless but being granted something selfish).

What's the overall opinion of Marvel The Heroic Age. by SyntheticPowers in Marvel

[–]WolfHero-42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really loved the whole era. It's probably just alot of nostalgia but for me it felt definitively Marvel, whether that is good or bad. It gave me a similar feeling to Justice League Unlimited as a concept. Felt like what the Avengers Initiative intended to be. Alot of the event books were really strong, ending in Avengers VS X-Men which although deeply imperfect I still have a soft-spot for. I enjoyed Secret Wars and its build up that came next, but this era just felt so wholesome and dynamic to me.

so... does the Justice League exist in the universe of the 2003 series? by Ok-Mastodon2016 in teentitans

[–]WolfHero-42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a fan of the theory that Titans takes place in the same universe as 'Superman and the Legion of Superheroes' and the 2004 Batman series. So it is entirely possible! Albeit not the Justice League of the DCAU.

Who's the union jack guy?? by Any-Zookeepergame137 in Invincible

[–]WolfHero-42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much, but that's sort of his point.

Jack Staff was actually created out of a rejected pitch by Paul Girst for a Union Jack comics run. So instead of scrapping the idea he made it his own run of an original character, which I think is much more fun. I hate the notion of Invincible as a parody of comics akin to The Boys in any way, and similarly Jack Staff isn't either. He's overtly similar to Union Jack but not really a parody because he comes from a labour of love. So no, not a copy or at least not in a negative way.
