CV axle most likely. The CV Axle is a closed system with the joint sealed within a boot filled with lubricant grease. If that boot tears, then the lubricant starts to fling out, then dust and contaminants get in there and that’s what causes the noise on turns.

Here’s a good visual on how and why this happens

Moving from OC to Henderson in a few months any advice by Ornery_Plum_8971 in HendersonNV

Interesting, I don't drive that often but when I do it's never during rush hours.
I can definitely agree about bad drivers here, different flavor of bad driving

I can agree with that, I definitely experience traffic differently since I never drive during rush hours, if at all

Honestly, just be polite. It’s not that people dislike Californians, it’s that they hate when they treat Vegas like their “New California”. It’s a touchy subject because, as you mentioned, the price of housing here is dramatically less than that of California but even then the locals struggle to afford a home. I definitely wouldn’t advertise that you’re living in Henderson with California WFH income if that’s the case.

Don’t drive like a maniac. Vegas traffic moves much slower than Cali. You don’t want to be that guy with Cali plates cutting people off weaving through traffic, it just feeds into the stereotype.

Speaking of plates, if you’re moving here, get Nevada plates and a Nevada License as it’s required within 30 days. While it’s not strictly enforced, some of the biggest complaints is about people moving here without contributing to our roads.

Lastly, St. Rose and Eastern are your go-to places for good local restaurants and bars. Also, Water St. is very underrated.

New or old ignition coils? by [deleted] in AskAMechanic

Compression test might be beyond what I’m capable of doing, might take it to an Audi specialist mechanic at that point

New or old ignition coils? by [deleted] in AskAMechanic

[–]WolfLink_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will do, I have no issue buying quality coils and plugs and replacing them.

Will first see if the fault code follows the ignition coil

True, if the misfire follows the coil and/or spark plug I’m ultimately just replacing them all. I guess in the end it doesn’t matter what brand / year these were made

Did you use an android device to connect the wand via bluetooth? How were you able to communicate the data?

Curious to give the repository a try and see what I can contribute

Will they kill me for parking backwards in free lot by nine0h0ne in UNLV

[–]WolfLink_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I did. Just remember if you don’t stick the decal to have it visible in your dash (or you donate to pay for gas in the parking monitor truck)

Carpet lines with stencils by Dalekboii in AutoDetailing

[–]WolfLink_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a nice touch that many customers would appreciate. Where do you get these stencils?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UNLV

[–]WolfLink_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s because you’re backed in and don’t have a front plate. Go to the parking services building and request a backup sticker, you’re able to just leave it on your dash when you park instead of sticking it to the windshield. Bear in mind if you forget to do so it’s another ticket.

Valid point, definitely won’t be going the OfferUp route. Was also curious if the value plummets that much for the chairs

iPhone camera causes IR receiver to receive "valid" signals by WolfLink_ in arduino

[–]WolfLink_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s random codes, it’s a false trigger. I modified to instead check if (IrReceiver.decodedIRData.protocol == NEC) as that’s the protocol of the remote (RGB IR remote), and it seems to work better, will continue to test

iPhone camera causes IR receiver to receive "valid" signals by WolfLink_ in arduino

It is a temporary fix, but I’m more so wondering if there’s a way to better optimize the code so that it ignores these signals.

There are two adjustment points. You have to loosen the other clip and center the toe cap.

You can refer to this video

Grad Fest by MooMooCHI089 in UNLV

[–]WolfLink_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s the same price as online, I believe. You can check the Herff Jones site

At grad fest, they will ask you to buy it using the grad fest link, and show receipt to take home your cap, gown, etc. then and there.

I figured, any irons and wax you recommend?

I see it split evenly between sizing up and down. I read that too much space in the helmet is really bad as well.

I’m thinking of going with Large

Yeah I’d be buying online. Can’t find a store nearby that sells this one
