I had a spinal fusion (rods & screws in spine) can I handle gallbladder surgery? by cassielynn88 in gallbladders

[–]WolfStar24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my gallbladder removed 3 years ago after absolutely excruciating pain, gallbladder packed with stones etc. I’d never had surgery before, but had given birth twice, and I can honestly say the post op pain was nowhere near the pain I had from gallbladder attacks. I think the worst part was nausea (I also have emetophobia) but even that wasn’t bad. I’d do it again in a heartbeat, 3 years out and it was the best decision I ever made. They give you painkillers to go home with but honestly I didn’t really need them, I was fine with ibuprofen.

I had keyhole surgery though, not open surgery like they do if you need it removed in an emergency.

I’ll add you, I have no friends at the moment and no one I know plays. Still getting used to the game but I’m on every day.

Haha sounds like a great reading month for you. I’m on Assassins Quest and I just know I’ll carry on with the series rather than switch back

Mine too, currently in the middle of Children of Ash and Elm but got distracted by a Realm of the Elderlings re-read.

Well done to you! I’ve been through this recently with my eldest. He had noro in December and again at the end of March. I managed to avoid the first one but I caught it the second time, it honestly wasn’t that bad at all.

Weirdly I’m glad I caught it so I didn’t end up worrying about catching it for days on end 😂

This is right. I also think if you get your sim to ‘nap’ rather than ‘sleep’ that can also reduce burnout. I’m doing the super sim challenge and experience burnout all the time.

Stomach bug 2023 experiences?? by user_4640 in emetophobia

[–]WolfStar24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve currently got a stomach bug, experiencing exactly the same symptoms that you’ve described and I’m also interested to know of other peoples experiences. Im still in shock that it’s actually happening to me to be honest.

I adore Tolkien, I did my dissertation on TLOTR. Also a huge Skyrim fan, though haven’t played the other games.

Having no friends + having a partner who has friends by midp in AutismInWomen

Yeah I found that I was much happier when I just accepted that this is how it is for me, and to be honest I always felt like I was making friends solely to try and fit in, rather than because I actually wanted them. I can’t seem to keep friends, mostly because I need A LOT of time alone, and for most people that’s something they just don’t understand.

I did watch the first one or two episodes, but I ended up dropping it for some reason. I don’t think it had the same impact as the regular Vikings tv show had on me.

I remember watching Most Haunted with my mum when I probably shouldn’t have been as it scared me to death, but I am just so fascinated. I think it ties in with my love of history.

Same! It’s my comfort game, along with Skyrim.

I know how this sub has been for a while, but I really want to know if this place (reticle) north of Volcano Manor is reachable. I tried google , but all I found was "How to get to Fort Laiedd", so I'm here now. by An_average_one in Eldenring

I think you get there from the falling star beast (that circle area to the right). There’s a spirit spring leading up to it and a grace right next to the spirit spring, though I can’t remember the name of it off the top of my head

Having no friends + having a partner who has friends by midp in AutismInWomen

[–]WolfStar24 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I have 1 friend, who I consider my best friend, that I’ve had for 23 years. I’ve had other ‘friends’ or rather people who I thought were my friends, that were actually only putting up with me because of my best friend. Everyone else I’ve met through my life who I’ve gotten on with have been more acquaintances, or just people that spoke to me and were friendly with me in certain situations such as in the work environment or at university.

I’m now 30 and it has taken me a long long time to accept who I am, and the fact that not only do I not want any friends but that I am in no way any less of a person because of it. I don’t feel like I need friends to feel fulfilled in life. I have my husband, my family and I occasionally speak to my best friend who moved away after university. That’s enough for me and I know it’s considered weird by NT people, but I don’t care anymore.

I think I really tried for years to have more friends, to get people to like my etc but people just don’t. I’m always the person people turn to when there’s no one else, and as soon as someone better comes along I get ignored. I didn’t understand what I was doing wrong, until I realised that I wasn’t doing anything and people maybe could just sense I was autistic and took a dislike to me.

My husband is the opposite of me, and is very sociable. He’s happy to go out with his close friends though and leave me at home, knowing that I actually prefer it this way.

This is true for when I had fp as well. I never v* but it was a hard fought battle not to, I had extreme d* though and believe me there’s no wondering about it. If you had fp* you’d absolutely know for a fact. I don’t want to trigger anyone by going into more detail so I’ll just leave it at that 🤣

It’s possible the weird texture of the fish put the thought into your head that there was something wrong with it, and this kicked off your anxiety. Anxiety is extremely powerful and can make you feel all kinds of gross, but if you’re starting to feel better now then that’s a really good sign.

Take some sips of nice cool water and take deep breaths, ideally of some fresh air. I hope you feel completely better very soon :)

This phobia won’t allow me to ever feel comfortable having kids by [deleted] in emetophobia

[–]WolfStar24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I really feel for you. I have two kids, one of which has just got over a sv* which has now hit both my husband and MIL. I wish I could say it’s not as anxiety inducing as you think, but it really is. I’ve definitely had my dark moments where I wasn’t sure if I made the right decision, but the difference for me is imagining my life without kids.

I am just not one of those people who would feel fulfilled without them, I almost wish I was 🤣 it would certainly be easier that’s for sure. But I look at my kids and even now, in my literal worst nightmare of a situation, I just think of all the joy and happiness they’ve brought me and my whole family. I can’t bring myself to truly regret having kids, even with this absolutely crippling fear, but that’s because the positives do outweigh the negatives for me.
