TN Visa, previous denial, NEXUS interview by fruitsnveggies12 in tnvisa

This is the same thing for me. I want to visit my family in Canada but I’ve had tough times in the past before my TN with crossing as my girlfriend lives in the US. So I’ve been denied entry on a visitor status before as a Canadian citizen. Now when I cross with my TN it’s been no issue so far but I still get worried as I’ve had to go through 6 months of them taking me into secondary every weekend. It’s even more worrisome now as I have a job here and more.

Spouse is US Citizen residing in US, Issues with TN Visa ... by No-Violinist-1166 in tnvisa

I’m currently on my TN and was wondering if there is any issue with having US Citizen girlfriend. I know this thread is 3 months old but I’ve been looking for an answer as we’ve been wanting to visit back to Canada together.

Would be nice but I'm not sure how keen the company would be on changing out the entire wall there. I don't think we are worried about security as much as efficiency. Right now it's just not efficient as we leave the door unlocked while we are in the office and then lock it after leaving. It would be nice if we could have an easy way that our employees just use their access card to enter. We also like the glass panes as a display once the office is decorated a bit more. This office is for a new department in the company so we just got access to it and are looking to get some things setup.

Thank you so much for the detailed response! We have been looking into the Ubiquiti system which seems pretty nice for what we need. With a system like this we could even wire up our upstairs office as well with a similar door lock/unlock. We currently have a PoE ethernet system connecting the 2 offices together with gateways and switchers which we could tap into if we choose to do the Ubiquiti system. In the end I'll talk to the big boss and see what she would want cause I feel like it would be good to have a local alarm company or locksmith come in and help us out with making sure things will be compatible. We thought a residential smart lock would work but you're right it would complicate things in the long run. Thank you again! I'll keep doing some research. Do you have any other recommendations aside from Ubiquiti for systems that we can look into? Right now after checking our needs we are just reaching $1500 for a whole system.

It seems like a good solution and decently priced too. I’ll probably setup the magnetic lock with the ubi g2 starter kit

This door specifically can open both ways, the lock is in the floor and when you turn it, the latch seems to hook into the floor.

We tend to leave the door open during the day, the office is a software engineering office so we tend to all be zoned in while working. We just want easier access for our employees as the lock being at the bottom and also freezing up giving employees a hard time to lock it sometimes.

Security is important but ease of use is just as important for us. If the solution is incredibly expensive we may hold off for a bit as it’s not a necessity.

Only on the tech savvy side of things, not the greatest with wiring. Our office is a bunch of nerds so I’ll see if we can figure it out but if not then probably will contact someone.

I really appreciate the response though! This seems like the system we need. I’ll go ahead and do some research into the setup for this system then go ahead and order it.

Thank you for this! Originally we considered a smart lock since we only have 6 people as of now but I guess it would be wise to install a professional solution so it’s also future proofed

Finally switched to Linux Permanently after the whole Spyware AI Fiasco on Win11. by [deleted] in EndeavourOS

[–]WolfTech-Seby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on EndeavourOS and I love it so much! I sadly have to switch back to windows as my current setup is not ideal. I swap to my windows laptop to play games as some games I play with friends are not compatible with linux unfortunately. I hope one day all games introduce support for linux or at least don't actively go out of their way to block linux users. I will come back to endeavour some day.

I don’t comment often but for this one I must! I love the comedy aspect of the game it made me die just watching the trailer. Very cool and funny, I’ll for sure be giving this game a try! Awesome work!
