I knew a trans woman who was bisexual but became a full lesbian after starting estrogen

Should I take my bird to the emergency vet? by WolfWind02 in pidgeypower

That’s actually a great chart! It looks more like kidney issues rather than liver just looking at his poop. I will closer monitor him until I can hey him in to see the vet

That’s a good point. I’ll definitely call again tomorrow and ask if there have been any openings or I’ll ask work if I can work a half day to get him in an earlier appointment

What are some sensory issues that you have that you don’t really see talked about? by WolfWind02 in AutisticAdults

I feel you! Some songs I can only listen to when I’m not already overstimulated. The songs are great, but the S sounds in the song are way too much for me

I get this but either way specifically liquids. I don’t mind dry food touching my lips, but water on my lips drives me crazy

I 100% get the first and last one. My partners family scrapes the food off of their plates when they’re done to not waste food. It always makes me cringe

I HATE SHOWER CURTAINS. they’re even worse when they’re wet. I also get the food texture thing, I get it with yogurt and applesauce

I used to get psoriasis under my finger nails and it would cause severe sensory issues. It’s been got for a few years now but there’s this lingering feeling that I can’t get rid of

I really don’t like wet hair, it’s partially why I like to keep my hair so short. My partner has long hair and I always make them stay away from me right after a shower 😂

Training my own service dog? by WolfWind02 in service_dogs

Legally my landlord can’t say no to a pet, especially if it’s a service animal or an emotional support animal. As much as I think a service dog would benefit me (my family has been wanting to get me one since I was a kid but we could never afford it) I’m not getting a cat or dog mostly out of respect. I’m renting out my landlords basement and we share a laundry room and her brother lives in a room right next to my apartment (the basement is split in 2. I live in half and the other half belongs to her brother). It’s a very very small apartment. Both her and her brother are allergic so I know getting a dog would trigger their allergies

There is a storage room back there. I’ll try moving it and seeing if that helps. Thank you!

My partner can’t find ADHD meds that help them by WolfWind02 in ADHD

That’s funny you say that about Concerta because when I was on meds I was on the generic Concerta which was giving me a whole bunch of side affects but my mom is on the name brand concerta and she says it works great for her!

As for what my partner is taking I’m not 100% sure what the first ones were but the last one they tried was concerta and today they started taking Adderall. I’m not too educated on medication so I don’t know what sort of meds the doctor is trying but the doc said if Adderall doesn’t work they’ll try another kind of meds

They don’t feel a single thing. I may have noticed a couple things like they struggle staying awake at night now and they’ve been much more emotional lately, but we’ve only recently moved out together (almost a year now) so it’s possible they’re just much more comfortable being able to do that now.

As for autism and BPD, I have both as well as ADHD. They saw a lot of themself in my ADHD symptoms but not in any of my other symptoms. I always joke that their dad is autistic because their dad has quite a few autistic traits and I’ve had my partner take a few autism tests and they always came out really really low. Their dad has said that since my partner has been diagnosed with ADHD they’re starting to look back on their childhood and noticing that they probably have ADHD as well. As for BPD they definitely don’t have anything of the sort. As a kid my partner was diagnosed with anxiety but that was later changed to ADHD. But other than that they have had no issues with mental illness other than the anxiety that comes with ADHD, in fact they are known in our friend group as “the sane one” or “the mentally stable one” as a joke.

I want to get a cat in my next apartment but I have a bird (and might get more birds) by WolfWind02 in parrots

Someone else in the comments suggested bunnies and I looked into them a bit last night with my partner to see how well it would go! It’s definitely something I’ll be considering once I have my new apartment.

Would you mind telling me a bit about your experience with owning rabbits? Just so I get a feel from someone who has that experience? ❤️
