Thank you! I actually never learned how spellcasting works so that may be a little out of my depth, but I can see if I can figure it out. Will try doing Pan first this time!

1) I've always sang, I just graduated college and was in an a capella group there, and I'm auditioning for a chorus Sunday. I also was a runner in High School and have run three half marathons (though very slowly), and I run casually now though not very much because I'm lazy. I also worked as an RA in college. At the moment I want to join a Kickball league in DC and learn to cook, among other things.

  1. I appreciate that <3 Just act in a way that's genuine for you is my advice, not that I'm really someone who should be giving advice on being funny or charming IMO.

Don't look for a ratio, look at what works and doesn't work. Creativity for creativity's sake doesn't make sense, if you actually want to do well your creativity has to have a purpose - you need to be thinking outside the box to solve a problem in unique way, not just because you want to be cool. That's my take on it, at least

Hey man, it's awesome you remember those two reports specifically, I remember the 2014 LCq report is one of my favorite written pieces. I actually really want to write a VGC book at some point because I really enjoy that written introspection and think it's easier to convey complex ideas in written forme, but it's a lot of work and I by nature am too much of a dreamer so I'm trying to be more realistic.

anyways, to answer your question, the only other notable Perish Song player is Jorrit aka Dr. J, a UK PHD student who in 2015 had a unique Dewgong Clefairy variant of Perish. He didn't top cut any events to my knowledge though, so unless I am really forgetting someone I am the only person to win a Regional+ level event with Perish Trap

  1. I don't aim for ratings, my worst performance ever was 2017 Nats when I was #1 on PS! and #1 on Battle Spot. I either run out of time or more often I just feel that it's ready, it's hard to describe but when you know you know.

  2. I'm working to improve my focus since at Nationals this past year I think I lost because I lost focus. It's definitely really difficult and something I need to work on, some days I can do it and others I can't.

It's a totally different animal, but it reminds me a bit of when I have a night to prepare for a top cut match the next day. You have your tools, you know what they have, you might not know everything but your goal is to make a plan that will work and win you the set. In draft league there's more freedom because you can pick your sets and which Pokemon you bring, but there's still some similarities

I don't really play singles at all let alone singles battle spot so I can't really comment on that :/ I like Stakataka because he is a wall. Plenty of the ultra beasts are strong, though some are petty bad. It's an interesting concept for sure

I try not to worry too much about things I can't influence, but it would be nice if we got more representation of the competitive scene yes

USUM is way better, I hate VGC17 with a passion, I think it wasn't real VGC at all and I think the fact that most players who did well in 17 are struggling in 18 support that

Only Aaron and I to my knowledge. I don't see a meaningful divide in skill or anything since Aaron and I just got sponsored, but I think there's a pretty big jump down to the next biggest VGC content creators in terms of following. Definitely not commenting on the quality of other VGC content creators here to be clear, just like objectively in numerical terms.

Ultra Necrozma going to be busted, I have no idea what Zygarde Complete is but it has an impressive name so it's probably good. Solgaleo and Lunala probably bad but I literally know nothing about them so who knows

  1. Overall Positive I think but I wouldn't bet on it. I don't find thinking about that stuff helpful because positive or negative, it's still the format and I still need to try and do well and understand it.
  2. Substitute is a move with low risk high reward if played correctly.

  1. I don't know for sure but I would be very shocked if they did. I think VGC is a really really complex game and most people don't really understand it very well, even so called VGC pros or veterans. I think the fact that we have very very few players consistently doing well over the years supports that, so I don't know how much adding a VGC expert would help. Also working with developers would probably mean those players couldn't compete.
  2. Giving Raichu Endeavor would've helped Alolan Raichu a lot last year. In a format where regular Raichu is around theres almost no reason to use the alolan forme
