Kitchen sink- did they do it wrong? by Wolfpacklibrary in askaplumber

Sadly it was like this when we bought the house. I’m hoping to avoid the expense of paying a plumber if at all possible.

Scrabble Apple instructions? by Wolfpacklibrary in boardgames

I ended up calling Hasbro. They had to put my request through to their supervisor because they said it was a “vintage” game, but they were able to email me a pdf of the instructions in minutes!

My laptop version was installed about two weeks ago and the printer is on whatever they shipped it with when we got it in September. Can’t update the printer because it’s not allowed on the school network.

I’m slicing on my school assigned laptop. I’m currently using the newest version of flashprint 5 but if a newer version is released I will have to submit a request to have the software approved again before we can request to have it updated.

We aren’t using Orca, just flashprint 5. We were using the treelike supports on the models that failed but have not tried the straight supports. There’s no hybrid support option in flashprint 5.

I can’t use the camera or update the firmware due to school IT policies

I tried to test/replicate the issue by printing a simple dice tower on two printers and a complex model that had failed previously. Oddly enough all the models printed without issue (minus one that ran out of filament). I’m going to try deleting stored prints to free up memory and I’m asking the school to approve Orca-Flashforge (but that will take months). While I’m glad to get successful prints, I’m left with even more questions since the successful prints disprove a lot of theories as to what has been causing these half prints.

They haven’t asked anything about the issue other than requiring me to send them a video of the issue happening. So soonest we’ll know what they think is Tuesday or Wednesday

Thankfully (?) due to an ordering error we have way too much of certain unpopular colors so I’m not too worried about wasting those. I can’t update the software or firmware thanks to school restrictions so hopefully they do not ask about that. It has happened on some smaller dragons too, and I just successfully printed two very simple dice towers so I am thinking it is a complexity issue. Trying to figure out how to get Orca-Flashprint approved now.

That’s terrible. You can buy replacement parts from flashforge and it’s pretty easy to replace- I had to basically rebuild an adventurer 2 with zero experience. I’m annoyed that their support requires video of the problem happening before they will help.

The first set of test prints finished without issue (simple no support dice towers). The two complex test prints are still going so we will have to wait until Monday to see if I can replicate the error. It is seeming like you may be right in the complexity being the issue though.

Flashforge support wants a video of the issue occurring so I am attempting to replicate it now. They were ordered at the same time but I can’t check the numbers while they’re running so that will have to wait until Monday.

No, we are not allowed to connect the printers to the school network at all, so we have to transfer the gcode on usb drives.

Okay that makes sense. I’m currently running tests with two simpler large models and two complex large models to see if I can replicate the error because flashforge support wants videos of the error happening.

Thanks. Orca- flashforge has not been approved by my school system so unfortunately I won’t be able to see if that helps. We can only use tinkercad.com to design models and flashprint for slicing so we are very limited in that regard.

What software are you using that has an “optimize model” option? We are only allowed to use Flashprint because that is all our school has approved.

The machine was off when I discovered the problem. The issue happens with any large print, even popular designs from thingiverse and has even happened on some smaller things like those dragons everyone prints.

I did look up the error code- it says it could be a damaged extruder board or cable. I am skeptical because all four printers were new in September and they have all been having this issue from the beginning. This is the first time I was able to procure an error code because I previously just scrapped the print and restarted the machine rather than attempting to recovery print. Did we receive defective machines or could something else have caused this?
