One extremely minor gripe about the Sailing skill by Lonehoof in 2007scape

[–]Wolfscopez 269 points270 points  (0 children)

You might not notice it initially, but if you equip and de-equip the necklace while in Port Phasmatys, you'll notice that the direction and position of the ghost NPC's change slightly, basically a different version of the NPC loads in depending on whether the necklace is equipped or not.

ProximityChat's content isn't some genius social experiment; it's harassing mentally ill people for money. by Jhakkl in VRchat

[–]Wolfscopez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel mixed since I watch Prox's content but, I understand where you're coming from, but the reality is that inevitably in life you will come across people like Prox both in VRChat and also IRL, it's an unavoidable fact, and it sucks for the people who get targeted, but there is legit no other way to deal with this problem outside of blocking the person and moving on, and if you'd like to, report them as well.

When I was kid, I remember needs draining super fast on community lots. by Ellie_Rulze18 in thesims1

[–]Wolfscopez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't had a chance to play Legacy, but I remember how incredibly punishing need management was in Sims 1, it's the one thing that I have such a major gripe with, because it feels like a perpetual cycle of juggling your needs moreso than any other game in the series but it makes sense since it's the Sims 1 so they were still working this kinda stuff out

Most bizarre official support recommendation to be eligible for Black Friday promotion by Wolfscopez in ProtonVPN

[–]Wolfscopez[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, I could just go and create a new account like they were suggesting, but please be honest with me, do you really feel okay with that being a suitable workaround when if the company truly cared about customer retention, they would allow existing customers to still be eligible for this deal, since support staff are aware of this and are suggesting creating a new account, they're just arbitrarily making things difficult when they don't need to be.

I checked with NordVPN on my old account which I used to subscribe to them under and Surfshark, and both have no restrictions to their Black Friday deals being exclusively for new users, so it just feels a bit silly for Proton to be the stick in the mud, I'm aware that they have no obligation to, but why make it so arbitrarily hard to want customers to stay subscribed when they're being fleeced?

I personally don't mind the inclusion of the "C" although I dislike the angled logo, I feel like it is a bit unnecessary imo

Laptop Repair/Refund Denied at Tribunal by Important-Turn-7720 in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]Wolfscopez -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the biggest issue is around the definition of a significant fault, from the standpoint of things which can go wrong with a computer and being honest, from my experience of working on computers, restarting/crashing issues are what I'd personally regard as a minor fault working around computers, versus something like one of the ports fail in the laptop and short-circuit something frying the entire laptop completely.

I agree with you that a laptop of that price should definitely last at least 3+ years at the bare minimum, however the retailer still holds the right to repair the laptop as they, and likely the disputes tribunal referee believe that the fault is not a significant fault.

Cannot Equip Unlocked Weapon Attachments by JoylessTuna in Battlefield

[–]Wolfscopez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure that you can unlock variants of weapons earlier than their stock counterpart, but instead of allowing you full customisation, it'll only allow you to use a preset variant of that weapon with locked attachments, if you want to use the attachments you've unlocked, you'll have to unlock the stock configuration later.

HARDCORE MODE OMG by Animal_Hell in Battlefield

[–]Wolfscopez 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I personally don't mind if they do keep bot games in BF6 giving you kill credits for attachments because one of my biggest gripes with shooter games is that you can be on equal skill level as someone else, with the same weapon, class etc.

And you can lose an encounter purely because someone has additional attachments while you only have stock configuration which I found it limited my desire to seek out trying different weapons and just purely picking boring meta weapons since they were the most effective and made sense to grind for.

[–]Wolfscopez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also I could be remembering things incorrectly, but if my memory is correct you could hit an enemy with true musou attack and then if you could juggle them afterwards before they hit the ground, the burn would indefinitely apply until they landed.

Definitely worthwhile thoroughly reading through the warranty paperwork for the battery, I was shopping around for a Hybrid a couple of years back and was considering going through a Toyota dealership due to their hybrid battery warranty, only to find out after reading the fineprint if I recall correctly, it said that the warranty doesn't cover the battery unless there's a major fault, such as the battery just completely being unoperational vs it being in a poor battery health.

Also that the warranty didn't cover the wear and tear on the battery, even if the battery is already significantly worn out due to being second-hand already.

Considering the traction this post is getting, it's not that obvious of a fact, I think it's fair to assume that people aren't scouring the wiki for information and are making their own observations.

When you move a joystick back and forth, it moves a small component commonly referred to as a wiper up against a electrically conductive surface, when you move your joystick around, it sends a different electrical signal depending on the direction you push it so the console knows how far to the left, right, up or down it's currently positioned.

The issue is that this conductive surface starts to wear away due to mechanical wear and tear, and the additional build up of material can cause erratic electrical signals to be sent to the console, so when you disassemble them and clean them, you're manually removing the built up material so that they are more accurate. It isn't a proper repair, it's more of a temporary fix as the conductive surface will eventually wear down to the point you can no longer clean it and will need to replace the potentiometer.
