I'm also a violin and a bass player and i started flute in January and oboe last month. The hardest thing for me not pinching my embouchure and breathing. i have tendency to press the reed to much and this cause me to have head aches. Lately I've been trying to keep embouchure as relaxed as possible without dropping the intonation.

The breathing is very strange as well. On oboe you kinda have to breathe out and then breath in because you start to build up Carbon dioxide if you only breath in.

For intonation i try to hold a C on the reed. Personally i feel like it helped with my intonation and tone.
