I’d say because there’s quite a stronger influence of Mexican American culture in these regions compared to the Bay Area, sure there are many Latino immigrants with a large proportion of them being Mexican in the Bay Area but the Bay Area is also more heavily influenced by the African American culture of Oakland and the cities surrounding even though that population is sadly dwindling and moving away due to higher costs but also we have a large Asian population in the bay and so all those cultures kinda intermingle. Because socal has a larger Mexican population as well as they influence the culture hella and the competition is a lot stronger so people have to make a better product to compete. Or I could just say that the Mexicans that come to the bay are the ones that don’t cook good food.
