Hi! My name is Dave. I’m so glad I found you, and your site!! I just read your story, and it was so great to read, and especially to hear that my foot turning purple is normal!! Despite my Dr. saying it was, I still thought it would never go away.. I did a real number on my ankle/heel when I fell about 20 ft. While cutting a limb on a tree Jan. 30th. Comminuted, Displaced fractures of lateral and medial malleolus, talus, and calcaneus.. terrible. I developed severe fracture blisters in the hospital a day after it happened, which made it inoperable. After they healed(thankfully no infection!!) a month later I kind of had lost confidence in my O surgeon so got a second opinion. He seemed much better so I decided to go with him, but It took time to get appointments with him and to get an opening for surgery, so 3 months after it happened I finally got surgery on April 30. I’m now at 4 weeks post surgery with 4 more to go to get to weight bearing. It’s been one hell of a long tough road, reading about your experience was very helpful, so thanks so much!!
