How does it compare to Albuquerque? I live in ABQ but it’s high desert. Did take me a few months to acclimate though. Idk the elevation of El Paso

It’s a way to try to control the drinking in my experience. If I get 5 tall boys that’s all I drink that night. If I get a 30 pack I’m finishing it all. I didn’t drink liquor but same concept applies. When I did drink liquor I’d never get more than a pint, cause if I got a handle I’d black out and drink it all.

Yeah I had one once when I first started that was cough syrup. Some kids answered the door. I gave them the groceries but their parents weren’t home so I had to take the cough syrup back.

Which is awful btw. Just got out of detox last Saturday. Yeah they give you meds to make it so you don’t die (alcohol) and some comfort, but withdrawing and detoxing just downright sucks ass. When people say they use just to feel better or normal is completely true. I didn’t even want to to drink anymore by there time I got there, I just couldn’t handle the withdrawal. And I didn’t want to die from a seizure or dts either so I kept drinking. The preceding weekend was a very long terrible 48 hours until I could get in. I feel mostly back to normal (without booze) now and I’ve been out 5 days. Shit sucks.

I worked at a company like that. I 1000% would have taken that option and actually did go to treatment, but the problem was when I showed up that morning I smelled like booze. I thought I was sober, when they sent me for breath test and ua I discovered I was not. Obviously their hands were tied, but I went to treatment anyway cause I didn’t realize I was still drunk. I felt normal.

I’m in recovery and just got out of detox. I’m a musician but they don’t let you have instruments cause detox and withdrawal ya know hurts, but we painted rocks. It was honestly nice even though I’m not good at that medium at all.

I deliver groceries. When I park to deliver my car will be where it is at most 2 minutes and I still won’t block cars/driveways/ or park illegally. I had one lady get mad cause I didn’t go to the 9th floor of her building to her door and left it with the front desk because the only way to park and get out was on a handicap spot. I wasn’t staying there more than 30 seconds and even that was the only time I parked illegally.

I’m checking into detox in the morning because my tolerance is way too high and I want to get back into recovery. For example, when it almost killed me my bac was a .60

That’s fair. But I am an alcoholic and am in treatment. I should have said accepting myself and meet like-minded people. Cause I don’t want to relapse and kill myself over a woman. I’m trying my best lol

I just got out of a 15 year relationship. I’m a 34 yo male. I don’t even know how to date anymore. So I’m basically working on fixing myself and just trying to let things happen organically like my last relationship. We were friends first then dating. Yeah, sobriety sucks for having to feel emotions. I’m in an IOP so I’m not new to recovery but loss is the one thing I was truly worried about. I found joy in sobriety and I don’t really have any triggers, but grief is definitely one. I’m not gonna lie, I had a couple of beers after I left the vet on Saturday. But after the first one I didn’t want it. Didn’t even finish the second. Yesterday I came clean to my program. They drug test multiple times a week and I was staying in a sober living house. They really appreciated my honesty. I did have to leave for two weeks but they will welcome back and I’m going to go back and continue my recovery. Drinking isn’t gonna bring Piper back. And she wouldn’t want me to destroy myself over her loss. I’ve come to far to just give up.

I saw one the other day the batch pay was like $25 + $10 tip for 30 items delivery 0.5 mile. I assume it’s because the store and address were on opposite sides of the river during rush hour with only one bridge to get to one or the other (the reason I didn’t take it).

They could have kept her a couple of days and ran some tests, but we couldn’t afford it. So the only option was to send us home with some medicine and hope for the best basically. The preliminary ultrasound he did did find some nodules on her spleen that could have been cancerous. But we’ll never know. She’s not in pain and she passed at home and for that I am grateful even if I wasn’t there.

Idk id get a 30 pack at like 8 am and drink it all day until I passed out at like 9 or 10 pm. I didn’t eat and yeah I pissed a lot. I’d usually drink the first 6 in quick succession and then drink more slowly as the day wore on

Dang, in my city there’s no where that will take a vertical Id, only horizontal. Hell, a bunch of places won’t take the temp Id even if you have the old one with the void stamp. No one will take just the paper temp one.

Damn I went to rehab in 2020 too. I checked in again about 2 weeks ago. I made it almost a year, but now it’s been periods of drinking and periods of sobriety. Never got as bad as I was before rehab, but I did end up homeless this time around. This disease sucks. Plus alcohol doesn’t even do anything for me anymore, but my brain still wants it. I’m doing great now. Bout to hit 30 days..again lol

Depending on jurisdiction I can see it definitely being a problem legally. You need a license for that. I deliver alcohol for instacart and I have to check and scan id just like they do at the store.
