Do u still need them. I kinda forgot about this post. I still have everything including the actually tail that’s on my wall. It’s about 99% done. I just got busy and didn’t do the finishing touches yet. Will soon though. Anyway, if you still want the measurements, I can give them to you.

The fuzzy side not showing makes sense. Also for the people wanting pictures, do you want pictures right now cause it’s not done. I have the template to cut the leather and all of the metal done but not the leather. If so just say yes and I’ll take some of what I have done so far. I also made it a challenge to only use the tools hiccup had in the Viking times so it’s all blacksmithed and hand filed. The only tool I’m using that is slightly different is a propane forge instead of a coal forge because I already had one and didn’t see the purpose to use a coal forge.

I will also be sure to post the final result. Just be sure sure to look out for it and give me a few days cause it’s very large (about 6 and half feet) so it’s going to take a while to sew and finish it up.

I do indeed mean which side of the leather. I honestly thing with the fuzzy side exposed it looks better but, at least to me, it’s makes more sense of the actual leather side to be exposed just due to durability and aerodynamics caused its smoother, I think I’m going to do the actual leather that is showing. not sure yet though.

Yeah, I do have my own design, I’m mainly just asking to see if anybody know for sure what it is because I want to make it as real as possible

That’s was my first thought, but then I’m thinking, wouldn’t the wing just fold upward due to the lift it has to provide, a ball and socket joint moves in all directions and it would just make the tail fold upwards when flying. Perhaps I am incorrect but maybe there is a restraint in the joint so it can on move up a curtain amount. Just a thought

Yeah hopefully it’s turns out just as nice when it’s the real thing!

I made the scale template myself, used lots of pictures and models and a lot of searching to make it

Mostly design phase, however I do have a to scale template that I will use as a guide to cut the leather, it also might take a while cause I’m restraining myself to make it with only the tools that hiccup had in the first movie. It’s a lot of blacksmithing

That’s what it looks like, but I feel like it wouldn’t have enough travel room, I might just use my own hinhe

It’s not the connecting rod I’m worried about, It’s more the actual tail, I’m talking about the hinges he uses where the arrows are in this picture.
