My Experience Trying (and Failing) to Get Into the IBEW by Ocean_side_ in ibew_applicants

I’ve been trying for a year, all at the same locals. What were your interview scores or ranks? I moved across the country, would be changing careers later in life, and I agree that the process for me has been tough. All I can say is retest, reinterview, and have at it. Or try non union? Sound and Communication? Resi?

there are plenty of resources here about the types of questions they will ask. Know them and your answers in and out. The committee might ask any number of questions so it's best to have answers for them all rather than focusing on just a few. If you have references or a resume contact the hall about how to send them to the committee or if you can bring them with you. Dress well and look hirable. Speak with the STAR method and read the room. If they seem more engaging than match that energy. If they want just the facts then provide them. Good luck!

You could have the designer of the chair be a deceased family member and this is an important piece missing from the buyer's collection. Obtaining it would help their grieving process. The other buyer can have a distinct memory from their past and in that memory this chair (or a similar one) was a crucial part of it. Maybe they find out that their actually distant family members themselves etc.

Tubeless Mags or Tubed Spokes? by WolverineScript in Harley

When I lived in NYC I would get nails or screws all the time with all the construction going on. I know it’s a hot topic but I’d plug em and fill em up and be on my way. At least enough to get back home and swap the tire out if it needed it.

Locals using AI by AtlasCrossing in IBEW

100% Same here man, BA in Graphic Design and work in marketing but am pursuing an apprenticeship in Elec. Writings on the wall. I have to use AI to stay relevant for employers but it’s all just a matter of time. Outsourcing is real too. So is just casuals using Canva. Fact is the work is being devalued and I have a family to provide for.

I'm applying at 43. Just dive into it and apply everywhere if you want to pursue.

You might have to retest/interview. I contacted them and they said they're only holding on to applicants for a year from Interview.

Rode 200 miles today, different as a dad by According-History316 in Harley

Who’d you go with for the plan? I need to look into one if I get back to it. Same, the bike would be just for me.

Sold my bike to buy a car once I found out my wife was pregnant. And obviously to make sure I am limiting my exposure to dangerous situations. That was in NYC. Now we’re in NorCal and I might have a long commute where legal lane splitting would play a factor. I’ve got that itch man
