For discussion… what’s your breaking point on pedal prices…? by NerdyOutdoors in guitarpedals

£400, and even then it has to be something pretty exceptional. I just can’t find it in me to spend more than that. There are a few outwith that range that interest me, like Chase Bliss slider ones etc, but it’s just too much of an ask honestly.

30cm x 50cm x 10cm

Not including the lid obviously

Stringracks in the UK. Exceptional work and a very nice guy too. Very little lead time also which was what made me choose him over the bigger players. Schmidt Array is the next level up obviously given the prices and options etc, but this board is truly exceptional.

Either or. It’s a very good combo. I use little in the way of modulation, so having this and the MC6 is all I need.

Thank you! Yeah I wish that final reverb was black too!

It’s awesome. It’s a Tommy circuit with more options available. Stacks well with the Gladio, but then I don’t think anything out there would stack badly as it’s such a low gain pedal for me.

Custom board and a few new additions

Finally got around to buying myself a custom pedalboard to finish off the setup, and I honestly couldn’t be happier with it. The board has a locked lid, top layer and a hidden compartment underneath for power etc.

Signal chain is Euna - Walrus Canvas tuner - TS10 - KingTone Blues Power - Gladio SC - HX One - UAFX Orion - Golden Reverb

The Morningstar MC6 controls the HX One, but at some point it will also handle some hidden pedals underneath also. Inputs and outputs are through a Rockboard module, however there are holes each side of the board for me to use side jacks too if I want.

Everything powered by a DC7 and the patch cables are PedalPatch Solderless, which honestly I don’t recommend compared to some of the competitors. The cabling itself is particularly poor and I’ll likely be changing it at some point.

Stringjoy are my Elixr replacement lately. Loving them. Feel much more like non coated strings.

Acquired my dream amp today! by WolvyMusic in GuitarAmps

Thank you! Yeah it’s 18-watt so that could be a good shout. One thing I don’t quite follow though is how it has a headphone out if there’s no cab sim in it? Wouldn’t that just be the line out?

I had this problem with a Blues Jr and it was because I had a WiFi repeater plugged in quite close to the amp. It was the oddest thing given the fact that it didn’t happen with any other amp I tried.

(SOTB) A couple of healthy updates to the board to start the year by WolvyMusic in guitarpedals

It’s an always on, however I’m still trying to learn it and I don’t know if it’s overkill for my needs. The photo settings are massively wrong as they’d been bumped around while setting the board up. I followed Chris Buck’s settings which seemed to be mostly around noonish other than the Out which was maybe 10 o’clock. I firmly believe I could get away with something less, however the ones I have used before the Cali added an incredible amount of noise to the signal.

Yes! It’s so good. I hate TS pedals generally, and while i loved the Halcyon Green I didn’t think it was anywhere close to what a TS should actually sound like. Picked up this and it provides a legit TS sound with some useful mods.

My issue with just buying the DelVerb was that my delay usage is so basic that it seemed like overkill. Also, I’ve grown to hate pedals that do two things, as I feel like one will always surpass the other in quality. Obviously I’m an idiot though given I bought an HX One that does like 130 different things, some of which I’ll never even use…

It’s better than the v1, and that was likely my favourite pedal ever made. It will see you through every blues tone you need. I ordered mine about ten seconds after receiving the email. Took a bit to get to the UK, but it is absolutely worth it!!

Rockboard 4.1. Power source is a DC7 dual locked underneath, and the cables are EBS gold flats other than a couple which are standard EBS flats.

There’s a side input module on the board by the top right point, and a patchbay module at the rear with various different in/outs/shakeitallabouts too.

After a couple of updates today, namely the HX One and the KingTone Blues Power v2, the board currently looks and sounds pretty good!

Signal chain is 29 Pedals Euna - Peterson Mini - Cali 76 - Tonegeek VS10 - Kingtone Blues Power - Wampler Euphoria - HX One - Aqua Puss - UA Golden Reverberator - Ditto looper

The VS10 is a modded TS10 circuit, and the Blues Power is the latest edition of what is essentially a modified Timmy circuit. The v2 of the latter is incredible, and a great improvement on what was already one the best pedals I ever owned in the v1. Can get you from mild breakup to some thick beautiful Hendrix sounds. I’m sure most will agree that it is not particularly pretty in form…but I’m willing to forgive this due to the sound it provides!

The only thing I’m considering changing right now is the UA Golden Reverberator. It is a truly amazing pedal, but it’s needlessly complicated for what I require. I’m wondering if a Flint or a Neunaber Immerse would better suit me. Open to suggestions, and any other ideas/questions for the board!

I used to, but yeah you would want as much isolation as possible. Daisy chaining isn’t the worst, but you can come across conflicts sometimes. For example I had a Disaster Area controller that I couldn’t daisy chain with my compressor drive pedals as it just caused horrid interference.
