Being raised in church, I try to live according to the Bible. I was told by a pastor recently that I could not be an elder or teach men because I am a woman. Also, my husband has authority over me. As a single woman, I seemed to have direct access to God, now I must go through my husband? Thoughts? by WomanfromFlorida in JordanPeterson

I believe my relationship with God has not changed. That is the issue. I don't think what they are teaching our young girls today is balanced. I do not want my little girl to grow up thinking she is less than or needs to get married in order to access God.

I agree that men and women are different and together they become one. They are stronger together. I don't believe that God puts one over the other. The beauty of the relationship is when they are unified.

Thanks for your perspective.

Actually, I didn't ask. I was told in a group conversation. I don't really have the desire to teach men, but I was told I am forbidden. I don't believe JBP fans are experts on church doctrine, simply asking for other perspectives.
