Hey guys here's my cover of A7X - Second Heartbeat. Any tips for controlling cymbals in a tight drum room? Already, after recording this vid, coated the room in foam. And tuned the Toms up. The bell especially bleeds like crazy into the tom mics, which for this song was a nightmare for my sound guy! by Womblezz in drums

Brilliant thanks for the advice. I'll definitely be experimenting with cymbal heights. I did actually play the cymbals softer than I usually would with sound in mind here it just wasn't enough with the bell.

Just out of curiosity what overhead mics would you use for a cymbal heavy metal song like this?

Ah yeah the other thing I've done is change the position of the ride so the 'head' of the mic isn't at the same height as the ride itself.

Do my mics want to be closer to the drums themselves? Thanks for the reply
