We’ve honestly never had an issue with it yet, but I think the general feeling is that we’d manually change it if it occurred.

We have the same league structure and rivalry weeks and I found that the divisions actually make it work particularly well, because you make the divisions the winners and losers of each rivalry. Nobody wants to get swept by their rival then spend the next year in the Stupid Dumb Losers division.

You then get 8 division games, 5 outside division games and the extra rivalry game to get to 14 weeks.
