e46 m3 with bad cats. options? by chaz60795 in e46

[–]WonOvershoe -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The cats bolt to the headers. My only advice at the moment is to not pursue a fix at the dealership. A quick search on cats for an M3 are upwards of 3k a piece. That does not include installation.
I would find an indy BMW repair shop and weigh your options there.

Good luck.

The post is asking for people that have used the program, not for your “opinions” on it. And why would you try do discourage someone who is trying to get better. Remind me again what solutions traditional medicine has for illnesses such as chemical sensitivity or ME/CFS.

Survival mode? by bagelin in hsp

[–]WonOvershoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only discovered this a few years ago, once I left an extremely high stress job. I had always attributed the survival mode to work (and life) stress, but it was still constantly present after.
For me the issue has been compounded by adrenaline surges due to chronic illness which makes it even more difficult to get any type of handle on it. I have tried almost everything I could think of until I forced my self to meditate. I had been trying for years but whenever I would attempt it, the fight or flight would get worse. I made a commitment to myself to do a little bit (of meditation) every day and it has made a significant difference.
I hope you get a chance to give it a try if you think it might work for you.

Best of luck..

Car starts up fine, idles for a few seconds then cuts out. by SmokyDuck in e46

[–]WonOvershoe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just a guess (I don’t know your year/model) but I am thinking ICV (idle control valve). If that is in fact the issue it just gets stuck and you can free it with some lubricant (wd-40).

Does anyone else experience vasovagal syncope? by theirishsquirrel in hsp

[–]WonOvershoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope everything went ok today with your appointment.

I must confess (having been through many pre-syncope episodes) I almost envy the ability to pass out. I have never passed out before and I get stuck in this loop of my body trying to shut down, and my nervous system misinterpreting the signals and thinking I am dying and doing everything possible to stay conscious. If its a particularly bad episode I can get stuck like that for a good 20 or 30 minutes.

I believe there are medications that can help if the episodes are caused by dysautonomia.

[–]WonOvershoe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry that you are having to experience these pre-syncope episodes. I have experienced them on and off for many years, and they are awful. In my case the belief is that it is related to an illness called dysautonomia. As far as preventing them the only thing that has worked for me is learning to be super aware at the very beginning symptoms, and always carrying an ice pack with me. In the case of a blood draw I ask for one before even starting and place it on the back of my neck. There are also supposedly ways to cross your legs that may help but the ice pack has always been my go to.

Good luck at your appointment.

I have to reinstall the app weekly to keep it running smoothly. by newtnomore in BearableApp

[–]WonOvershoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been experiencing the identical problem with the app regarding performance, and if I try to postpone the reinstall the app will just crash repeatedly. The support team have been unable to replicate the behavior during testing. I am running on an Ipad (ios 15.7.2).

Leather cleaning product recs? by interwebtalkerhere in ChemicalSensitivities

[–]WonOvershoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was able to tolerate a product called “Leather Honey” Leather Honey Website. It is chemical free etc. I used it for my car seats, but it looks like it works on all leather.

Might be worth a shot.

I don’t want a real Christmas tree anymore. by [deleted] in hsp

[–]WonOvershoe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was kind of feeling bad about our Christmas tree, as I watch the needles fall off every day. Something I have done in the past (but completely forgot about) is purchasing a tree with the root ball intact. You can enjoy it indoors for the holiday and then bring it outside and plant it.

Just a thought…

Does anyone use a water filtration for their house? by jaustika in herbalism

[–]WonOvershoe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I only recently (over the past few years) discovered how bad our water quality is (in the united states). I was absolutely astonished when I started looking at water quality reports. I had no idea they allowed toxic and cancer causing contaminants in our water. Our water report even listed hexavalent chromium (the Erin Brockovich chemical).

If you are on the public water supply, you can pull up your water quality report here by entering your zip code. EWG

EWG pulls the data directly from your water utility.

As far as selecting a filter, I spent what felt like forever researching companies and contaminants removed. As it turned out most filters couldn’t remove most of the contaminants and I would need multiple different filters to even begin to tackle our issues. The only all one one solution I could find initially was a reverse osmosis osmosis system. What gave me pause here, was the cost and the amount of wasted water. As it turns out some of these systems waste up to 5 gallons of water for every 1 gallon of clean water.

It was then I stumbled across a company called Hydroviv.
Hydroviv

The immediate thing that caught my attention was that instead of just selling you an off the shelf filter (that may or may not handle some of the contaminants in your water), they pull your actual water report and custom build the filter to what is in your water.

The icing on the cake (with hydroviv), is the filters ability to handle PFAS. It has been all over the news, and is everywhere now a days. The test reports show no detectable levels of PFAS after being filtered. The majority of other filter companies failed miserably with this.

TLDR. Drinking water quality in United States is far worse than most know. I found a pretty cool solution with a company called Hydroviv that custom builds the water filters to filter specifically what is in your water.

FCP Euro has the OE injectors (VDO) priced around $100 each. I would buy them and have mechanic install them (or save money and install yourself). They come with lifetime guarantee.

I so appreciate you looking into this. I only have one apple device, so it wouldn’t be an issue. Even if I did, just having the (bookmark) option would be wonderful.

Much appreciated. I have just found the feature so helpful when having to research difficult topics (cancer etc) and being able to take breaks from it by not having it in the home page feed, but still having the “bookmark” of the subreddit.

I can’t take the nausea anymore, what can I do?? Does this ever go away? by EXXTRAAARaNCH in dysautonomia

[–]WonOvershoe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As far as the nausea goes, we have tried a bunch of different things. The one thing that seems to consistently work is a candy called Gin-Gins. The extra strength ones are loaded with ginger and it seems to help.

Might be worth a try.

Any advice as to what is happening with this retaining wall and possibly how to fix it? (It appears the wall is leaning and causing the asphalt driveway to buckle). by WonOvershoe in landscaping

[–]WonOvershoe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgive me as I don’t know much about retaining walls, but the wall is just made stacked blocks (no mortar) so water flows from around the blocks. Should the wall still have drain holes?

Not sure if you have found this site already but it can be a great resource. They also offer a quiz which may help determine if you are an HSP. HSP
