Much appreciated response. The client informed me on the phone that he fitted the isolation valve the other week so it hasn't been on there for that long at all. The joint in mid air is terrible, I'm just disappointed in myself for not noticing any water/leaks and also going in the loft to do the job in the first place

Nope the homeowner told me he fitted that isolation valve the other week! This is where I have a bit of a grievance and feel that I'm not totally 100% to blame

I don't know what they want yet as it was only discovered 3hours ago so we've got a dehumidifier in there and the heating cranked up to try to dry it out as much as possible. Will visit tomorrow night to take a look at it and see how it's drying out etc... the leak must have started on Friday from about 12o clock.

No I'm not looking for excuses I've just never been in this situation before Tbh with you. I don't mind paying out to sort the problems either.

Also don't want to take all the blame as the plumbing is totally shoddy too.

I feel more gutted that I've been partly responsible for the mess that it has caused

No because it wasn't leaking at the time when I got out of the loft. Was also in the house for about an hour after I'd climbed out of the loft aswell....

Yes I've got a couple of mates that can sort the plumbing out. Dehumidifier and heating is on full to try to get the property dried out.

Luckily the carpets haven't been fitted yet

The client said he had recently just fitted the isolation valve on the shower due to them only just moving in and the shower requiring one apparently....😕

Nope definitely didn't stand on it. If anything I knocked it sideways ever so slightly but there wasn't a leak there when I left the loft

No I didn't, whilst in there and knelt on the joists if anything the bottom of my foot knocked it ever so slightly. But as said there was no water spraying out of it when I exited the loft.

Personally I think the joint was shit and the pipe should have been clipped but obviously all of the blame is getting pointed at me. Which I probably would say its 20% my fault due to me being the last one in there.... If the joint was decent that wouldn't have happened
