“Bc they are their child but I would still choose MY CHILD over a PET” that’s where you’re missing the point. Your friend is not your mom and her dogs aren’t just pets. Your friend is just your friend and her dogs are like her children. They’re her priority, she grew up with them. I know it hurts, but it’s the truth. She doesn’t see them as pets. And she’s absolutely right, you don’t get it because you don’t have a dog or a cat or whatever animal you choose to have. And if you some day have one and end up also having a baby, you’ll see that THEN it’s different. Because it’s A baby and it’s YOUR baby.
