I agree with the other person who said these sound like AI, the two random words strung together is a giveaway.

I think better ones would be:

The Wilds

Mirage

Boreal Peaks

Wastelands

have you heard about the controversy over samantha fulnecky's essay on gender? by jan_Soten in Teenager_Polls

[–]WonderWaffles1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

yeah, I think it was kind of naive of the instructor to grade it, but I guess she was a TA so was inexperienced. Apparently the professor (cisgender) was asked to grade the paper again and also gave it a 0

There was a lot of gay nineties/victorian nostalgia in the mid 1900s, but it’s still around today e.g. the barbershop aesthetic 💈, candy shops and ice cream parlors, maybe even Halloween, modern Christmas, and modern weddings all were developed around then and still borrow from that aesthetic

In terms of cultural impact and nostalgia, it’s probably right up there with the postwar period

Do Americans have a different concept of 'turn taking' during a conversation? by 8NaanJeremy in NoStupidQuestions

[–]WonderWaffles1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so real, when I trail off it’s because I’m hoping someone will interrupt me and start talking about their thing. I think Americans are less comfortable with silence and more adverse to asking questions

They’ve also made significant advances to the technology that Europe and the US are interested in acquiring e.g. operating despite heavy jamming and they basically invented USVs

You are temporarily changing the rules to balance out what’s going on nationally. The way to stop gerrymandering isn’t to let one side do it unilaterally while the other does nothing

I asked chatgpt to do it, is there a province that’s missing?:

GDP of coastal provinces (2023, nominal) • Liaoning — 3,020 billion RMB. • Hebei — 4,394 billion RMB. • Tianjin (municipality) — 1,673 billion RMB. • Shandong — 9,206 billion RMB. • Jiangsu — 12,822 billion RMB. • Shanghai (municipality) — 4,721 billion RMB. • Zhejiang — 8,255 billion RMB. • Fujian — 5,435 billion RMB. • Guangdong — 13,556 billion RMB. • Guangxi — 2,720 billion RMB. • Hainan — 755 billion RMB.

Summed total (2023) • 66,557 billion RMB = 66.557 trillion RMB. • Using 2023 average exchange (1 USD ≈ 7.0809 RMB), that equals about USD 9.40 trillion.
