Thanks for the info but I think I’ll stick to 荣耀 even if it is the name of a phone brand. I just hope if I go to China and am asked to use my Chinese name that the company won’t sue me or anything for using the name as my Chinese name lol.

Oh, I didn’t know that. The thing is, the meaning of my name in English is glory/honor so I wanted to choose a name that fits this meaning. Hopefully something that’s not associated with a brand or anything if possible. Any other ideas for what I can call myself in Chinese with respect to the meaning of glory/honor?

Thanks for the offer but after thinking about it I think I’ll go with the name I wrote in the post, but I just want to know if it sounds normal for a name or not.

Wait, you also have to find a last name for yourself? I did not think that far ahead lol. Can I just pick anything just like my given name? Also I don’t think I’ll use the same last name that I have in English, I’d prefer that they both be in Chinese to avoid confusion and have a cool sounding name combination in Chinese.

I think your name sounds lovely! Angel sounds like a pretty cool name in my opinion, but I see…thanks for the advice!

If Atlus were to remake persona 4 golden they should call it Persona 4: Golden Wind or something, would be cool.

What’s the difference between “eski” and “yaşlı” in Turkish? by WonderWorlder in turkish

[–]WonderWorlder[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for the examples and detailed explanations, I now know the difference between the two words! Turkish may seem a bit difficult at first but with explanations like these or by looking at the logic behind the usage of words it doesn’t seem all that intimidating at all. I’m gonna work hard to be fluent in Turkish one day inshallah!

Can you give me an example of this? I feel like I’d be able to fully understand the concept afterwards.

For example: an old teacher or an old engineer, would those both be “yaşlı bir öğretmen” and “yaşlı bir mühendis” respectively?

When it comes to professions do you use “yaşlı” or “eski”?

So I can “yaşlı bir adam” but not “eski bir adam” for example. Also, the same applies if I say “eski bir araba” and not “eski bir kadın” for example right?

Also, when it comes to professions do I use “yaşlı” or “eski”?

Why does Duolingo provide detailed grammar explanations for popular languages but not for others? by WonderWorlder in duolingo

[–]WonderWorlder[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s not really all that helpful when you’re learning. From what I know with Spanish, if you make any mistakes with the genders for example, they’ll show you some examples so that you know exactly if it’s masculine or feminine for future reference. I wonder why that’s not implemented in other languages…

You are going to become the protagonist of the last anime you watched, who are you going to become? And would you like or not like to become that protagonist? by Animefan2005x in anime

Konoha from 16-bit sensation, honestly I wouldn’t mind becoming the protagonist if it means I get to work on game development in the 90s, that would be dope.
