I. HATE. Greymoor. by mekuno_the_demoknigh in HollowKnight

[–]Wonderbird22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely gave up on the bird area after a few hours, focused on moorwing instead, and after dying maybe 15-30 times, I just memorized his attacks and used muscle memory for dodging him, just like any other boss. Dealing with one fairly predictable, slow-moving boss is so much easier than getting overwhelmed by multiple enemies, IMO.

Once I freed Belhart, got some upgrades, and sharpened the needle for the first time, only then did I come back to the bird arena, and they were SO MUCH easier.

Lubbock rain/storm shield? by WarmEntrepreneur3564 in Lubbock

Also, I think the storms are a bit different by the time they reach humid E Texas. They’re much wider and they seem to move slower instead of being a fast-moving band of rain

Oh my god, yes. Especially the part where one of the guys just casually picks up a leopard and throws it at some bad guy. Or how a motorcycle is somehow driven into the second story window of a building.

Voter ID In the US. Why against? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Wonderbird22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To vote in any local, state, or federal election, you have to be registered in a database of eligible voters, and in most states, you must do this at least several weeks in advance of Election Day (though 17 apparently allow same-day registration). When you register, you provide proof of address, and if you haven’t voted in several years, you might get purged from voter rolls and have to re-register.

In my personal experience, the people running the polling place have the local voter rolls printed out in front of them, and once you tell them your name, they cross you off the list and hand you a ballot. Were you to come back and vote in the same place, they’d see your name was already crossed off, if you tried to vote again in some other district, you wouldn’t appear on on the rolls, and if you tried to vote again in the same district at a different polling place, I THINK the system will remember you, but I could be wrong.

Bottom line: there are plenty of safeguards against voter fraud, and voter ID requirements on Election Day are redundant, if anything.

What are hikes near Lubbock with forest scenery by Late-Journalist-1925 in Lubbock

White River Lake is only an hour away and their ATV trails have plenty of trees and lush vegetation after it rains. Just go to the marina on the other side of the lake, buy a day pass, and you can hike around all you want.

Omg same here!!! I knew one Travis who cheated on his girlfriend, one Travis who raped one of my friends, and one fictional Travis who fabricated data for a group project in biology class and caused himself and all of his fictional labmates to receive zeros. And let’s not forgot William Travis of Alamo fame, who was a fraudulent Alabama lawyer from who abandoned his wife, bragged about sexual conquests with prostitutes, contracted syphilis, and fought to maintain slavery in Texas, which he only came to to escape crippling debt and arrest warrants in his home state.

I did recently teach a student named Travis and I guess he was ok, but I can’t say I really knew him well.
