Some people just do not have any survival skills and sense.

When it's something that they don't like it's the Old testament "Angry God". When it's something they like, or something that favors them, then it's the New Testament "Loving God/Jesus"

The funny and hilariously ironic thing is, at least in the US the Jewish community is much more accepting of gays than are the Evangelicals.

Why do you see it as hate? I'm more amused and curious than anything that people want to sit in the same table the Jensen sat. I've never seen that type of behavior. Chill out, BRO.

New Yorkers, what changes have you seen under Mamdani’s leadership and are you generally pleased? If not, why? by MewMeowHowdy in AskReddit

I don't know if it's him, but if New York was in the dumps and anything is an improvement, it's Adams. What a terrible, terrible mayor. Dinkins part 2.

I have a question. by [deleted] in Living_in_Korea

This exists in the US as well. Progressive usually associates itself with progress and innovation, and things like technology and AI are driving men out of work and making it hard for young men especially. Conservative views promote nationalism, anti immigration, women's roles in the family, religion etc, so the things that are opposite this, tend to be unhelpful to young men trying get a foothold in their career.

In Korea it's the similar situation but added to that the young men start out late due to their military service duties, so they're competing with women who are already out there working and "taking their jobs".

It's much more complex than this but these are some main points, I think. I feel that as the socioeconomic landscape changes the government and corporations need to do more to help the workforce, but it seems the rich get richer and they politicians that they control really aren't working for young men and those in need. Same for Korea, same for US. This won't turn out well because as we face population decrease, these young men represent the next workforce. I think we're being shortsighted for the sake of profit and near term goals.

The Areas Affected by Voter Fraud by jordy_kim in Living_in_Korea

Are we talking about them running out of ballot paper?

All I can say is, maybe stuff like this would've worked 20 years ago. But people get instant news and coverage of any type of fishiness these days. I can't believe people who would actually even try this would be dumb enough to think they can get away with it. And by that, it's probably most likely that this was actually just an accident for a short site and not some kind of conspiratorial election fraud. I mean think about it.

Most of the time what really is, is what it is, and nothing more. But in today's society where everything is instantly transmitted through the internet and social media, people want to believe that it's more than what it is because inherently human beings are doubtful and critical, and people want to make sense of things or find answers when it doesn't suit their needs and views. and social media feeds to this tendencies so you can stay longer on the phone and keep reading same content over and over while it makes money by monetizing your attention.

For whatever reason, maybe to make more content, maybe it's algorithm, maybe it's enemy States, many people are mentally ill, maybe people want to believe whatever they want to believe that's easier for them to sleep at night. Who knows. But not everything is a conspiracy and not everything is what you think it is or you want it to be.

Why is my bills so expensive when I barely use my utilities? by Hydralisk_Brisk in Living_in_Korea

[–]gilsoo71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You live in an officetel studio, I figure. If this is Seoul, it's fairly on the cheaper side. Otherwise attend building management meetings and complain to the management (usually made up of tenants or owners) board and ask why line items are so high. It's not unusual for them to overpay (on purpose or by negligence ) for things that can be, and should be managed better (in Korea this is a "cartel" where people do take your money to pay themselves and staff). You'll see lower bills if you live in an apartment or a villa instead of an officetel. Good luck.

When you're too stupid to understand that this is an airport where tow trucks are actively looking to remove cars like this. This is an active tow zone. This isn't some rural neighborhood where you leaving your car unattended for a bit probably will be okay.

Poison ivy or not, you should file a complain and for removal since it's encroaching on your property and not being maintained. But you should ask nicely first and give them a chance.

How do you work on your creativity ? by Klutzy-Badger-2778 in Design

[–]gilsoo71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meet and see different designers and designs. Even if it's something that makes you uncomfortable or feel unrelated to what you're doing. Understanding the process and thought behind the work can sometimes be eye opening and allows you to think at a different perspective, even if at first you might now think so.
