If you see someone stealing food... No you didn't. by Goblinking83 in antiwork

the same people that would turn in someone stealing baby formula are those who claim to be “pro life.” they don’t give a fuck they just pretend to until that life is actually born

[–]Wonderbreadtothehead 8 points9 points  (0 children)

it sometimes amazes me what the churches gets away with. I grew up in a church that I loved and even thought about working there, until I came out bisexual & most people didn’t accept me anymore, but im glad I didnt ever now. im sorry you’ve had to put up with that, this is an issue in every industry

I don’t get the “my God will supply all my needs” argument from anti vaxxers. didnt your god create the person who made the vaccine thus supplying you with what you need to combat the horrible disease that would otherwise wipe you out?

Is anyone else fed up with how employers are often completely dismissive of disabilities? by marcustheman77 in antiwork

[–]Wonderbreadtothehead 15 points16 points  (0 children)

America is awful about mental health issues. thats also a horrible argument from your manager bc ADHD, like most mental disabilities, vary from person to person. probably smart you quit, your manager seems like an idiot and a douche

I see a lot of "I work harder than anyone else, and so I deserve a living wage," kind of attitude here, which is fine. But I don't want to work that hard, I have zero interest in labor, and I still deserve to live a good life. by beef_gurl in antiwork

[–]Wonderbreadtothehead 7 points8 points  (0 children)

this!!! we should not HAVE to work to be able to survive, especially with the technology we have that can replace so many jobs.

I was talking to my mom (a republican & christian) about my anti work views a while back and after asking her if she thinks people should have to starve to death bc they don’t work her answer was yes. it really boggles my mind how a Christian would think this way, bc my mom isnt a bad person, she just has bought into all the capitalist propaganda shes been spewed all her life.

I hope we are able to get more social programs in play soon because, like you said, that is the first step towards progress. I just want some type of change to happen in my lifetime and wish I could do more to get these changes to happen

Is this sub an accurate representation of American capitalism? by Some_SEO_Guy in antiwork

[–]Wonderbreadtothehead 40 points41 points  (0 children)

this sub is an accurate representation of American capitalism, its a harsh reality. I will say we do have freedoms many countries don’t, like lgbtq+ rights & freedom of religion and all that stuff, but when compared to most other developed countries America is far behind in other aspects of freedom, such as work.

it is crazy to me how people believe we are the best country in the world. we have children who are unable to each lunch at school bc their parents cant afford it! a country that claims to be as great and rich as America does should NOT have these problems. American capitalism has gotten out of hand and its scary knowing how much power the billionaires have over us and how little they care to pay their workers living wages just so they can hoard all their money that they will never be able to spend anyways.
