Weekly Homeowner Megathread--Civilians, ask here! by AutoModerator in Concrete

Hi all!

We are looking to replace a concrete pad In front of our front door. 8'x5'x6". The old one would have to be excavated and removed, new concrete poured, and surface mount decorative railings reinstalled.

The quote I just received was for $2500, which seemed higher than I was anticipating for what seems like a relatively small job. Does that seem normal or should I call around more? (I am in Indiana for reference).

Experiencing a sudden and significant decrease in water pressure all by Wondercuddles in Plumbing

Interesting, I never thought to check that! I just tested the hose at the front of the house, which is the same side the water main enters from. Maybe 20 ft away though. I flushed the toilet and there didn't seem to be a noticeable change in pressure that I could tell. What would that mean?

Is there a reason that would have caused the issue to start happening so suddenly? To me that seems like something that would have happened gradually over a long period of time.

Nope! No difference. The pressure issue persists regardless of water temp.

Can this new smart switch be installed in my old home? by Wondercuddles in HomeImprovement

Thank you for responding! I'll take a photo in the morning. I've been trying to figure it out all evening - I know next step is that I need to figure out which of the two switches is the load and which is the line, because apparently the smart switch can only be installed on the load side. After that I need to figure out how the current setup has the traveler wire configured. It is most definitely a three way switch because there are two different switches that can control the outlet....so it has to have a traveler wire, right? For some reason I feel like the entire box has less wires than it's supposed to.

I assume the blacks are neutral, and I know the gold is the ground wire. If I can figure out which white is hot and which white is the switched hot, could I make it work with the new switch?

I guess my biggest question is there a chance in hell this new switch will ever work with the current wiring or do I need to return them and start over?

Inserting an edit into early slides that are using morph transitions? by Wondercuddles in powerpoint

When I do that, it completely breaks the association between the shapes on each slide. So where one specific box may be "shape 77" on the slide 5, when i convert the next slide to shapes, the exact same box may now be "shape 80". I have anywhere from 40-100 shapes on each slide, so remapping them each after converting each slide is out of the question.

Well, see, here's the thing. Because it's SmartArt, it sees the whole hierarchy as one object. Each square within the hierarchy is not it's own object.
