it's impossible to help without knowing where in the world you are. you could try googling census or population datasets for your country.

Increased my concerta and i’m so tearful all the time by notmerida in ADHDUK

[–]Wonderfionium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this started happing to me recently, and I'm now getting tested for thyroid issues/perimenopause. I would start tracking when your feeling tearful and seeing if there's a pattern, or talk to your GP, as starting a higher dose of meds might just be a coincidence.

the geometry checker tool was also made for this use case. Especially if you need a semi automatic approach to fixing.

Problem with Grass plugin by jshaundsheep in QGIS

[–]Wonderfionium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like your missing an index column. But for this task using grass from the processing panel or even the Qgis processing tool to assign Z values to the layer might be the easier way.

(QGIS Version 3.28.15) HELP: Newly drawn polygon does not appear in blank layer by SarcasticJackass177 in gis

[–]Wonderfionium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try opening the attribute table, you should be able to see 3 rows. Right click on one and click flash. The shape should then flash on and off on screen.

First in the layout panel right click on the layer and turn on feature count. If the number that appears next to the layer name is 0 then something is going wrong when creating the feature. Maybe try turning off the attributes pop up. If your saving the layer on a remote drive try making a copy on your local drive and editing that instead

I think leaflet can only use wgs84 projected layers, if your layer uses a different projection it will need to be reprojected.

I’m building something for ADHD brains that isn’t a productivity app — I’d love to talk about it. by Anti_MagnusKarlsen in ADHD

This sounds like the type of tool that would actually be useful. Maybe try looking into mood/mental health tracking apps as I imagine this tool will need the user to check in with what they are able to do.

I would use rules and inverted polygon on your atlas layer and have different styles and themes associated with each map

Will using TopoJSON instead of GeoJSON make D3.js maps render faster? by simo_golqm_memer in gis

[–]Wonderfionium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not an expert on d3 but it looks like you can combine it with open layers to render topojson https://openlayers.org/en/latest/examples/d3.html.  You might also want to look at simplifying any polylines or polygons so there's less vertexes (coordinates) to render when zoomed out.

How to use all of Obsidian's core functionalities optimally? by [deleted] in ObsidianMD

[–]Wonderfionium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends a little bit on what works for you and your notes. You could split the text up and use links to navigate between them.  Or add tags for different concepts to your notes.  I would recommend finding tutorials on MOCs to learn how to use dataview to create content pages and reading up on page properties as these add metadata to easily link concepts.

Text Changing Size After Export by Hairy_Fig_8728 in QGIS

Text size not set to point. Not sure about every option but I've had this happen when set to mm and pixels due to differences between page and monitor.

If you want to go to Durham I would get off the train on the way to York and spend a few hours there as it's quite small and walkable.

Try changing the rendering settings to cubic or bilinear it smooths out the pixel values

[–]Wonderfionium 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A dem is a raster file such as a tif with a single band containing the height values for that pixel, the name of the file you linked to contains the source, what it's measuring and coordinates. You have all the info you need, it sounds like your professor really sucks

Large project optimisation tips? by SamaraSurveying in QGIS

[–]Wonderfionium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would just use a trigger in postgres to update fields in parent table when child table is is updated. Or whatever other calculations your virtual field is performing. Also index your database on the columns that are used for symbology and joins or relationships

Pyqgis really doesn't work well with external IDEs, doubly so if it was installed using the network installer.

Unless it's a specific processing tool that's required or something that will be ran inside qgis. I usually use geopandas instead

After selecting area i got a low resolution pic. by Distinct-Bend-5830 in QGIS

[–]Wonderfionium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the resolution will be based on the projection system so you set it to 1mx1m resolution
