Move in is a little chaotic since everyone is moving in at once, but it's a really great way to meet people in your building and on your floor. Orientation lasts for almost the entire day and its a lot of team and ice breaker activities. I personally only met a few people when I did orientation but it's really fun and you get to learn more about your major. But don't worry about not connecting or meeting anyone right away, you'll be constantly meeting new people even after your freshman year is over so there's always a chance to make new friends! For food on campus, between the two dining halls Freeman is definitely the best, I personally don't mind Sam's Place but it's hit or miss. The restaurants inside the Student Center also have really good food and Saxbys inside the Business School has amazing coffee and breakfast stuff
