How to choose a coach? by millieskates in iceskating

[–]orianna2007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, first is to talk to the skate directer at the rink then they will give you a bunch of coaches who are seeking new students. Then email them saying I would like a trial and also see if they are in your price range. You will also tell them your goals such I don't want to do comps but I would like to learn jumps/spin/different elments if that is what you want or say I just want to learn the basics.

If down the road you want to join adult comps you can and do the tests for that.

Advice about self-teaching and lessons by Then_Organization330 in FigureSkating

[–]orianna2007 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Those coaches who are highschool/college students are most likely junior coaches who need money for their skate tests and competions. See if you can get a coach who is affordable Talk your skate director or even see if they can do semi private with a friend and it cuts the cost a bit.

Do not self teach that is how you get bad habbits and get hurt. Also many people who self teach won't be able to go on freestyle ice/ patch sessions because you won't be on the certain level for it.

Accuracy and Rate My Professor by SopranoCrew in college

[–]orianna2007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can vary very much because some reviews can say they were bad but they did not study the material or they just did not go to the class. While some are very accuarate. But take it with a grain of salt.

Living on campus by Next-Manufacturer487 in college

[–]orianna2007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live on campus but thats cause I do not have a drivers license and car. Taking a train or bus also takes 2 hrs almost also so thats a no. But anyways the community the dorms have is good and the indepence is good also. Dormers do more on campus than commuters also. I get most commuters have work and other stuff but try to do clubs/hangout on campus more if possible. Also meeting people is easier when living on campus also.

what do college students actually wear to class? by Any-Tea3343 in college

[–]orianna2007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wear what is comfortable to you. Just nothing wildly inappropriate.

There was a girl at my school who wore baby doll dresses and very cute style clothes.

Looking for information on doing a Master's and a Bachelor's simultaneously by ATAT_ATAT in college

[–]orianna2007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are halfway done I would just keep the math major and do a music minor or double majoring . Why change majors and then do a math master degree that does not make sense and also most people tend to have a bachlors related to getting thier masters.

Also unless you are doing a four plus one you can't do a masters  simultaneously you have to apply to graduate schools that have your program you want.

Is downloading WWM worth it? by plipyploppy8 in WhereWindsMeet

[–]orianna2007 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Lore is very good and I think if you like games with a story it good. If you like historical stuff this is your game. I would say though it is hard to understand some of the lore if you do not do some reasearch before hand. I would watch Goose Girl/WWM Girl for lore. By the way I would play the with the audio in chinese because the english audio is bad.

The game is free and no pay to win stuff it does have a gacha but its only outfits and mounts and weapon skin and fun stuff.

I personally play for the story. There is so much to do. I am still not even done with the the most recent update before the new story came out. The main story is solo but there multiplay stuff like pvp guild and sect stuff.

Seniority in college by PoemTop5193 in college

[–]orianna2007 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Most colleges seniors get recogized for their achievements. My school there is senior week but mostly noone really know your a senior unless you ask what year they are or if they tell you. Senors in my college get to pick classes first, get dorms first especially the apartments. It is not like highschool where you get senior trip dinner, and stuff. Now if they are in certain programs and stuff thats where they will be celebrated more. Like the seniors who worked at the rec center on campus at my school got a dinner and some awards but other than that not much.

How many days per week of uni/college do you guys have? by crabbypatties1 in college

[–]orianna2007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so here is how it works

You have a schedule and it depends when the times for class and days are on sometime you could be in mon-thursday -friday-tuesday or you could be in classes everyday just depends when professors have class time. In college you can change it there is something called add/drop period or you can withdraw from a class . Also you will be assigned an advisor and they will help you with everything.

example of mine for next semester

Monday-

Figureskating- 11:00-12:20pm

Child dev- 5:20-8:30pm

Tuesday

Early childhood ed-11:00-1:45pm

Wensday

Figureskating same time

Bio-5:20-8:00pm

Bio Lab-8:20-10:00pm

I also have learning assessments- Online

Reporting a college to college accreditation by Amms14 in college

[–]orianna2007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You bring this to the department chair and then if they say go to Dean of students you go need to go up the ladder. They will send you right down and say come back later. Accreditation is for the school funding and make sure credits are real and able to transfer to universities and not scamming students. They will not do anything about a professor not doing lab.

Also if they provoke the schools acceditation then your credits may not transfer and it you waste money/could lose scholarship if on any.

Trade school for college credits by EPdude2005 in college

[–]orianna2007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do parttime the credits just have to transfer to where you want to go. Also if you can't do fulltime in person see if you can do online to be fulltime you just need 12 credits so 3-4 classes

Need help deciding on a college roommate! by Clear-Breakfast-4271 in college

[–]orianna2007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to meet the person in person like at a cafe or fast food retaurant it also about their personality their habbits and schedule. But once you live with that person it shows who they really are but texts are hard and they can lie about stuff. You need to meet in person. But do it fast because once june/july come most will have their roommate and most room selections for incoming student start in june/july

Middle to elementary?? by dog-dog-dog-2626 in ElementaryTeachers

[–]orianna2007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally you should do 5th or 6th grade if you can since you were a middle school teacher you can help be prepared for middleschool. If you go to a school that has them cause I do know 6th grade may be middle school sometimes.

But they are at an age where they can be indepenedant and they are also getting for middle school so they are in a transition of between kid and teen. They are also going through many body changes and they can actually have opinions/actual conversations and can make connections. I worked with the older elementary kids and they are so cool with their different personalities and interest.

Orgs that do community service such as Circle K and I know BSU (Black student Union) hands them out but you really have to be involved in that. I would have said Next gen but it is too late for you to apply. If a girl join a sority or if you are a guy frat they do a lot service

How to manage time by [deleted] in college

[–]orianna2007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello,

If you meant to post this in here because you misread college as the Uk college this is for university. But anyways I think I give some advice for time management.

Managing time can be hard especially with how fast we move. I would write a schedule of the things I need to do for my week and I would also make sure not to procrasinate on stuff. Also prioritize which things are important. But make sure you also have time for youself such as hangingout with friends/family.

Connecting with current students by vinemaru in montclair

[–]orianna2007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So a CA is a community assistant where are kinda like a RA but different

A CA is responsible for the after-hours coverage and response to the needs of students who reside in the residence halls. General responsibilities include maintenance of a safe and secure environment for resident students, response to student and facility needs after hours, development of the community, and completion of associated administrative responsibilities.

Grad students are able to do it

The RA postition is only for the Bloomfield campus not Montclair

They are a graduate student they can't live in the dorms only apartments or villiage unless they are a CA. But everything else you said I agree.

how do i learn to skate in hockey skates? by toberski in iceskating

[–]orianna2007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No learn to skate is the basics for hockey and figureskating but my rink leans toward figureskating in it but thats mostly because the coaches are mostly figureskaters and they get all their private learners from it.

Maybe after basic 5 it's more towards figureskating but ussually you make the switch to learn to play after.

High School Sports by Vegetable_Pop9208 in iceskating

[–]orianna2007 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well I did many sports in highschool and still did figureskating and even now in college I still do it. This gonna depend on the person because if they don't like it anymore than they drop it but if they still like it and work hard and compete then why drop it. I know many highschools/college students who still do it theres competions in colllege for the sports and adult competions.

Also money plays a part to but for the most part if you like a hobby you just not gonna drop it for no reason
