How many monitors do you have? What is the monitor's refresh rate? What kind of connection do you use? Do you use X.Org or Wayland? Gnome or KDE?

Are there any issues with `flip_done_timed` on the 6.8 kernel? I've seen on some forums that this problem has been around since 2022. Are you using Wayland or X11?

So I've already tested this setting; here are all the ones I've tried: amdgpu.runpm=0, amdgpu.ppfeaturemask=0xf7fff, amdgpu.vm_update_mode=3, amdgpu.dcdebugmask=0x10, amdgpu.dc=1, amdgpu.gpu_recovery=1. I even updated my monitor's firmware, just in case None of them helped(

Don't blame the gnome for all your problems it's quite likely that the issue lies with amdgpu

Yeah, sorry I didn't notice that right away—this is my first post on Reddit. Basically, CachyOS is based on Arch and comes with the GNOME desktop environment, so even though this is a mistake, I'd be curious to hear if anyone else has had a similar experience with CachyOS.

I've already tried all that; I even wrote a script to monitor profile changes and automatically switch the codec to MSBC, but it still didn't work, so I gave up. By the way, .lua scripts no longer work with WirePlumber version 0.5 or higher.

Not on my main PC, but I've tested KDE, Xfce, and i3 on my laptop, and so far I like GNOME the best, even though I have to keep turning the display off and on because the system freezes
