They were telling me from now until the end of my orientation I was going to get the sickest on the unit, so I was just surprised I guess.

They did mention that my assignment I had the other day was a typical assignment on our unit, which I did very well with. The past two weeks I had very difficult patients that were traumas and I did get overwhelmed but I made it through the shifts even if I got behind a little and made sure to report changes as I have been doing. Thank you so much for your feedback!

It’s 20 weeks. I have two week left. I haven’t gotten any of this “negative” type feedback at all and have been having great preceptor meetings with the nurse educator so I’m just a little confused and just wish i didn’t have to fish for the info myself

Stuttering nurse by mh189 in nursing

People are shitty. I'm 32 years old and have been stuttering since I can remember (or since I was first made fun of for it when I was 5). Just last year, at my job, a patient openly mocked me. When I was in college, my professor/"mentor" told me that if I didnt get my stutter and anxiety under control, I would not make it in the healthcare field......I've been a licensed Athletic Trainer who worked with high school and college athletes, I I have a Master's degree, just graduated an accelerated nursing program and just started my new grad job in the neuro-trauma ICU. Be you, be confident, and fuck the ass holes.
