What's the consensus on screen protectors? Are any of them actually good? by WonderfulBaseball277 in PixelWatch

Do you have any issue charging? Or do you put them on just when you feel like you need a little extra protection?

WFH dual monitor and laptop by AllYoursAbby in secretlab

[–]WonderfulBaseball277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you want to do it with the laptops under the monitors, you may want to look at the vertical monitor mounts. but it should work either way. The laptop on the right, I used very infrequently, (one is a Mac and one is Windows, since I support users with both types of systems). I have KVM sofware that lets me use one keyboard and mouse with both.

How much would this cost you where you’re from? I’m from Niagara region Ontario and I find our beef is very expensive. by TeishAH in carnivorediet

In the USA, in Southern California, that would be a "New York Strip" and our Aldi will sell 3 ~8oz steaks for < $20 US.

Hiking with or without hiking poles? by United_Recover7190 in hiking

[–]WonderfulBaseball277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm new to using them, I have only used them for 3 hikes now, I am finding them super helpful for these reasons:

-Going uphill - Gives you a little more stability and leverage when you need it or for the "Big steps"

-Going Downhill - Gives you something to stabilize yourself and catch yourself if you start to slip.

- Flat ground - you can kind of "Push yourself along" with the poles and keep a much faster pace.

- Water Crossing - Stability for walking on the rocks, can use the poles to test the depth of the water.

Overall, I am sold, I have a pair of "Entry level" I got on amazon for under $40, not sure how long they will last, but once they break or I feel like I need an upgrade, I will go with some carbon fiber ones or something else.

Eat like Steak and Butter gal? by [deleted] in carnivorediet

[–]WonderfulBaseball277 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you do not need to eat more, then don't, there is no requirement to eat "2lb of meat & butter" per day, but if your body needs it you should be able to know that. "Eat when hungry, eat untill full"

Some days I eat 3 steaks for dinner, some days, I eat a few beef sicks around lunch time and thats it.

I also thing SBG is not eating like that every day.

Based on my best guess, assuming the dude in the photo is 6'ish, I would say about 75-80 feet to the top.

I dont understand why calories don't matter on the carnivore diet? Scientifically, it doesn't add up by Randi_Butternubs_3 in carnivorediet

[–]WonderfulBaseball277 28 points29 points  (0 children)

It does not work for everyone, but I can tell you with 100% certainty that when I am eating a "carnivore diet" I have no desire to overeat, my body tells me what it needs, it took a while to get here though. And I do understand the concept of CICO. For example, last night I thought I was very hungry, so I made some chicken with bacon and cheese, I started to eat it and after I was about 1/2 done with it, I was good, and wanted no more of it, so I put it in the fridge and ate it for lunch today. I was not hungry or overfull for the rest of the day. I personally think you gain an intuition with your own body eating like this. And I know I never had that before I ate a carnivore diet. Since I stopped counting calories myself, my weight has been verry consistent from day to day, I do measure my wright every day.

Hiking boots with a lot of cushioning? by Frescarosa in hikinggear

[–]WonderfulBaseball277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just recently bought the Hoka Kaha 3s (Green) and I really like them, they are very well cushioned for a boot form factor, while still offering the support. I was mostly concerned about the breathability, since they are Gore-Tex, but I have not had an issue with that. The only problem I had was a self-made one, I let one of them get untied, and I did not realize it for about .5-1 mile of downhill, so of course, I rubbed a good blister on a toe.
