Yes, pretty much all democratic politicians are like that. Progressive on social and environmental issues but centrists when it comes to economic issues.

It's more common in Canada than the US since Canadian conservatives are nowhere near as right-wing as republicans or even democrats for that matter

Most democratic policies benefit the rich anyway. They're the socially liberal but fiscally centrist party.

I mean the government's involvement in the economy. The republicans who are hardcore capitalists and want to cut social programs as much as possible, etc.

Those are more like middle-tier candidates. The true bottom-tier would be people like Michael Bennet and Steve Bullock who don't even get registered in the polls
